About This Opportunity
Humanistics AI is a coherence intelligence company — we build technology that reveals the invisible structures shaping how organizations work and help people act with greater integrity and clarity. Our platform is grounded in 35 years of experience solving seemingly impossible organizational problems.
We are a small, high-leverage team building genuinely novel software. Our Lead Developer is currently the single point of contact for infrastructure, production systems, bug triage, and new feature development. That needs to change. We are looking for a technically strong DevOps and Systems Engineer who can own the operational layer — freeing our Lead Developer to build forward.
What You Will Own
• AWS infrastructure management across development and production environments
• Monitoring, alerting, and reliability for live application systems
• Bug triage and resolution on released product phases, owning issues to closure so development continues forward uninterrupted
• CI/CD pipeline maintenance and deployment automation
• Security hygiene — credential management, access controls, environment separation
• Documentation of infrastructure decisions and runbooks
What We Are Looking For
• Solid AWS hands-on experience (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, Lambda, VPC) — you can navigate the console and CLI with fluency
• Comfort reading and debugging application code (Node.js / Python preferred) — enough to understand what broke and why
• Experience owning production incidents end-to-end without hand-holding
• A mindset that treats infrastructure as a responsibility, not a ticket queue
• US-based (or fully overlapping US business hours) — timezone proximity matters to us
• Clear written communication; you will need to surface issues and tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders
Who Thrives Here
We do work that doesn't have existing footprints. The methodology behind our platform took decades to build and doesn't map cleanly onto conventional software categories. You don't need to understand the organizational theory on day one — but you do need to be comfortable operating in a space where the answers aren't always pre-established. If you move toward ambiguity rather than away from it, and take pride in making a system more reliable than you found it, this is the right environment.
