NC Programmer

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain NC programs for CNC machines.
• Develop nesting layouts to maximize material yield and minimize waste.
• Identify and initiate tooling requirements as needed to support production.
• Coordinate with Customer Service to obtain deviations when tooling limitations impact customer requirements.
• Maintain the integrity, accuracy, and control of the CNC program database.
• Update and revise programs based on engineering, production, or customer requirements.
• Partner with production supervisors and operators to improve program efficiency and manufacturing performance.
• Support shop floor planning and production scheduling activities as required.
• Create technical drawings and documentation for customers and internal stakeholders when necessary.
• Ensure assigned work areas are organized and maintained according to 5S and housekeeping standards.
• Participate in quality, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform all duties in accordance with company health, safety, and environmental policies.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• College Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent technical training in a related field, or a minimum of three (3) years of relevant NC/CNC programming experience.
• Experience creating and modifying CNC programs and nesting layouts.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, blueprint reading, and technical drawings.
• Proficiency with computer systems and manufacturing software.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in sheet metal fabrication or metal manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of CAD/CAM software and CNC programming systems.
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Understanding of tooling design and optimization.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
