Simplview is a fast-growing Canadian GenAI conversational analytics startup incubated by the Government of Ontario (Brampton Next). We build mobile-native platforms that allow mid-market companies and MSMEs to instantly "talk to their data" and document infrastructure using the advanced RAG pipelines, and interactive visual dashboards.

We currently have 2 active enterprise clients, a validated product, and a highly talented execution team of elite full-stack engineers (IIT/BITS grads). We are looking for a veteran Fractional CTO / Technical Advisor to provide high-level structural oversight, guard our architecture, and help us scale for enterprise readiness.

The Role & Commitment

This is a lightweight, high-leverage role designed for a current Principal Architect, VP of Engineering, or veteran CTO who wants to guide an early-stage AI startup without leaving their primary commitments.

Time Commitment: 3–5 hours per week.

Format: 100% remote and fully asynchronous, anchored by a weekly strategic sync with the Founder and core engineering team.

Compensation: An equity-heavy advisory package (0.5% to 1.5% vested equity grant) + a flexible revenue sharing retainer depending on the depth of engagement.

What You Will Do
Architectural Oversight: Audit and guide our high-level system architecture, ensuring our LLM pipelines, database structures, and data ingestion frameworks are built to scale.

Enterprise Readiness: Guide our infrastructure roadmap for enterprise-grade security, data privacy compliance, and future SOC2 readiness.

Technical Sounding Board: Act as a strategic mentor and advisor to our core engineering team, helping unblock complex technical hurdles around latency, data chunking, and pipeline optimization.

Scale Strategy: Help the founding team evaluate future infrastructure investments, cloud spending (GCP), and technical hiring decisions.

What We Are Looking For

10+ Years of Engineering Experience: You have a proven track record as a CTO, VP of Engineering, or Principal Software Architect at a global tech giant or a successfully scaled B2B SaaS startup.

Production-Grade AI/Data Expertise: Deep familiarity with modern GenAI architectures, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Vector Databases, and handling high-concurrency data workloads.

Familiarity with Our Stack: While you won't be writing daily code, you should deeply understand our ecosystem: React, TypeScript, Python, Node.js, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Enterprise Security Mindset: Prior experience preparing an early-stage startup's codebase and architecture to clear enterprise client procurement and security audits.
