About Nexus

Nexus Mental Performance is building a mental performance company for professional athletes and high-performance sports organisations.

Our work began directly inside professional sport, supporting athletes through structured programmes focused on competition preparation, focus, recovery, sleep and performance under pressure.

We are now strengthening our public positioning and looking for a hands-on PR & Media Relations Consultant to help increase the visibility of Nexus and its founder across relevant media, podcasts, events and industry platforms.

The Role

This is not a traditional social media role.

We are looking for someone who can identify and secure meaningful external opportunities, including:

Podcast appearances
Media interviews
Articles and founder profiles
Sports and business publications
Speaking opportunities
Conferences and industry panels
Relevant awards and startup features
Strategic introductions to journalists, hosts and producers
The goal is to build authority and credibility around Nexus, mental performance and the founder’s experience working with professional athletes.

Responsibilities

Build and execute a focused PR and media outreach strategy
Identify relevant podcasts, journalists, publications and event organisers
Pitch the founder and Nexus to media and podcast hosts
Secure interviews, guest appearances and speaking opportunities
Develop strong story angles around athletes, mental performance, sport and entrepreneurship
Create media pitches, press materials and founder biographies
Prepare the founder for interviews and public appearances
Build long-term relationships with journalists, producers and industry contacts
Track outreach, responses, confirmed opportunities and media coverage
Support relevant company announcements, partnerships and milestones
Who We Are Looking For

Experience in public relations, media relations, podcast booking or founder communications
Strong network or proven ability to build relationships with journalists, podcast hosts and producers
Excellent written and spoken English
Strong storytelling and pitching ability
Experience representing founders, startups or personal brands
Highly organised, proactive and comfortable working independently
Strong understanding of what makes a story relevant and newsworthy
Experience in sport, startups, technology, wellness or high performance is highly valued
