About the job
Do you want to own how thousands of students experience maths and english, not just write the questions, but set the style, structure, and standard that every booklet is built to?
In a typical week you might design the framework for a new booklet series, write worked solutions that read like a great tutor, and set the content standard the rest of the team builds from.
About Contour
We started in 2020 with a handful of students and a belief that great education should not be out of reach. Today we operate across three brands with 8,000+ students and 425+ team members: roughly 100 in India and 325 onshore in Australia. The India team runs publishing, student experience, CRM and technology, operations, and people and culture.
About This Role
You own the creation and the standard of Contour's maths and english content. So far the academic teams have worked mostly with existing resources; now we want someone to build fresh material from scratch and define how it is presented and structured. You create original content for booklets, assessments, and learning resources, set the style and format future resources follow, and write explanations and step-by-step solutions that read like a great tutor. This is a hands-on builder and owner role, not editing.
You report into the onshore academic team in Australia and work alongside our existing India content team, owning accuracy, clarity, and consistency and setting the standard others work to. The bar is subject mastery paired with a designer's eye for structure. As the function grows, this is the path into content leadership.
What You Will Do
Build original maths and english content for booklets, assessments, and resources.
Set the style and structure of resources, not just the questions.
Explain like a tutor in clear, student-friendly solutions.
Partner with the onshore team to align with objectives and curriculum.
Own the standard and make it scale across the content the team produces.
What You Need
A degree in English, mathematics, or a related field, and strong command of the content.
A designer's eye for structure, excellent written communication, and sharp attention to detail.
The ability to work independently, own projects end to end, and set a standard others follow.
What good looks like
Original material, adopted as the team's standard.
Hard concepts made clear through structure and explanation.
A standard others follow, and content that scales.
The practical close
Fully remote, anywhere in India. Your day runs on India hours with overlap into Australian business time. Compensation is competitive and benchmarked to the role and your experience. We discuss it openly early in the process.
Apply with a CV and a sample or short description of a resource you built from scratch, and a line on what you designed and why.
