On a typical day you might ship a React front end for an internal tool, wire it to Firebase and a few Google APIs, use Gemini to handle the logic, and hand a team something that replaces an afternoon of manual work.

We started in 2020 with a handful of students and a belief that great education should not be out of reach. Today we operate across three brands with 8,000+ students and 425+ team members: roughly 100 in India and 325 onshore in Australia. The India team runs publishing, student experience, CRM and technology, operations, and people and culture.

About This Role

You build the internal tools and small apps Contour's teams rely on. This is the developer seat on an enablement function: engineering owns the core product, the LMS, and anything student-facing or touching money, and your team builds the internal tools that make everyone faster. The flagship example is ContourCut, an internal app built with Firebase, Google Apps Script, Gemini, and React that automates our classroom video editing pipeline. You build things like that: real tools with a front end, shipped fast but with enough discipline to hold up (SSO, server versus client done right, no exposed keys, no sensitive data exposure).

The bar is product and business sense plus the ability to actually build, front end to backend to release. You use AI to code, which is encouraged. You report to the VP of Global Enablement and Support, and you do not build the LMS or heavy student-facing product, which stays with engineering.

What You Will Do

Build internal tools end to end front end, logic, and data.
Use AI to build fast without letting quality slide.
Integrate cleanly across Google, Firebase, and internal systems.
Keep it safe and maintainable and documented.
Scope the real problem and build for it.

What You Need

You have shipped working software or tools in a professional setting. Shipped work over years.
You can build a small app end to end (something like React plus Firebase), comfortable with JavaScript and Apps Script.
Comfortable using AI to code, with strong product sense and safe build instincts.
