About the job

August Schools Overview

August Schools is the operating system for student support. It’s an AI-powered documentation, data intelligence, and communications platform tailored to K-12 wellbeing and student support. We bring administration, counseling, health services, learning and behavioral specialists together onto one modern work surface that allows practitioners to collaborate while still maintaining student privacy.

The company was founded in 2021 with hundreds of customers in private and public schools, primarily in the US and Canada. We're backed by prominent venture capital firms and are growing quickly to meet this urgent need. HQ is in NYC but the sales team is remote.

Role

We are looking for Account Executives to help take our sales organization to the next level - candidates who thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, team environment where all of us are pulling in the same direction to deliver on our mission: keep students healthy, keep schools safe, keep healthcare providers happy.

Our AEs own the full life cycle of a sale, from first outreach and discovery, through evaluation and contracting. You will be working in partnership with various practitioners and administrators at schools, identifying their individual challenges and presenting the specific August solutions that mitigate that pain and the positive outcomes our customers can expect.

Objectives

  • Product Knowledge – Understand and communicate our solutions and how they meet the needs of healthcare practitioner personas at K-12 schools
  • Lead Generation – Research leads and initiate new relationships with school prospects
  • Evaluation Planning - Create and execute on a plan of evaluation with prospects, guiding them through discovery, solution review and validation through product demonstrations, draft and present budget proposals and close business
  • Pipeline management – Manage and maintain a pipeline of qualified prospects and collaborate with sales leadership on monthly and quarterly forecast
  • Documentation – Mastery of and adherence to a defined sales process

Responsibilities

  • Prospecting – A comfort level with cold calling is required. Utilizing SalesForce and Outreach, cold call and email prospects to generate new sales opportunities
  • Lead Qualification – Build trust and develop long term relationships. Identify compelling issues/pain and position appropriate aspects of August’s products as a solution that leads to better outcomes for our schools
  • Appointment Scheduling – Set up meetings and/or demos with qualified prospects, host meetings and demos and guide prospects through a process of evaluation
  • Software Demonstrations - Guide prospects through online software product persona-appropriate demonstrations
  • Documentation - Document all interactions with prospects during the evaluation process including call logging, next steps, scheduled meetings and check-ins and meeting notes
  • Manager Huddles – Report on weekly, monthly and quarterly progress and present weekly forecast to the sales team and leadership

Required Skills

  • Experience – Experience within the K-12 education market is preferred but not required. 3-5 years experience as an account executive with a track record of achieving quotas is preferred
  • Communication – Impeccable communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Organization – This position is remote, so a candidate’s ability to think and plan strategically, create, and stick to daily task lists focused on high value activities and generate a high volume of leads on their own is a must

You’ll be a great fit at August if you exhibit:

  • Ambition and drive
  • Empathy, humility and integrity
  • A willingness to give and receive direct feedback
  • A willingness to learn and a desire grow professionally and personally
  • A passion for making people’s lives better, particularly children

What August Schools offers

  • A be-yourself culture centered around kindness, mutual respect and the pursuit of excellence
  • Competitive base salary with tons of upside for closers
  • 401K with employer match
  • Fully covered health insurance for an individual as well as dental, vision and commuter benefits, FSA, one medical perks etc
