Xempla is building the Autonomous Maintenance Operating Center — an AI-native platform that
thinks, plans, and acts so facility teams don’t have to. Six intelligent agents handle asset monitoring,
work order scheduling, technician support, compliance, and continuous improvement at scale.
We work with global enterprise customers — Sodexo, Emaar, Energy Australia — and are executing
a focused India growth motion targeting GCCs, REITs, MNCs, and institutional asset owners. In
India, we are selling our CMMS/CAFM platform: a proven, purpose-built product for smarter facility
and asset management.

The Opportunity:

As a Backend Developer at Xempla, you'll play a key role in building the backend systems powering our AI-native Autonomous Maintenance Operating Center, where software is designed to think, plan, and act autonomously. This is more than a traditional backend role you'll work in an AI-native engineering environment where continuously improving how software is built is as important as what is built.

You'll contribute to developing scalable backend services, intelligent integrations, and high-performance APIs while leveraging AI to accelerate execution, optimize engineering workflows, and deliver measurable business outcomes. Working closely with product, growth, and engineering teams, you'll help build the next generation of autonomous facility management.

What You’ll Do:

• Own backend services from development through deployment continuously improving performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python (3.x) and FastAPI.

• Build and optimize high-performance RESTful APIs and backend services for Xempla's Autonomous Maintenance platform.

• Work with MongoDB to design, manage, and optimize application data.

• Integrate third-party APIs and efficiently process JSON and CSV data.

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to rapidly build, iterate, and deliver impactful product capabilities.

Who You Are:

• Hold a B.Tech / B.E. degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Bring 1.5–2 years of hands-on experience in backend development or full-stack development with a backend focus.

• Possess strong proficiency in Python (3.x), FastAPI, RESTful API Development, and MongoDB.

• Have experience with Third-party API Integration, JSON, and CSV Handling.

• Are familiar with Async Python, Background Jobs, Beanie ODM or MongoEngine, and Authentication (JWT/OAuth).

• Exposure to AI API Integration, MCP/LLM Integration, and Vector Databases is an added advantage.

• Thrive in a fast-paced environment with a bias for learning, ownership, accountability, and impact.
