About the job
We are seeking a CEO who can operate simultaneously in three worlds: film finance, regulated fintech, and crypto/DeFi. This is not a pure crypto role, and it is not a pure entertainment role. You must be fluent in both.
You will be the face of RedCarpetHQ to studios, investors, regulators, and the crypto ecosystem. You will set strategy, close capital, close partnerships, and build a company that bridges two industries that have never successfully intersected before.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Vision
- Define and execute RedCarpetHQ's vision as the global infrastructure layer for tokenized entertainment IP
- Set the product, market, and regulatory strategy across film, gaming, and emerging entertainment verticals
- Make capital allocation decisions between product development, market expansion, and compliance investment
- Build and manage the Board of Directors and advisory board
Capital Raising
- Lead the seed round and position the company for Series A
- Manage relationships with existing and prospective crypto VCs, traditional media funds, and strategic investors
- Structure and negotiate term sheets, equity agreements, and token warrant arrangements
- Oversee treasury management and runway planning
Partnerships & Business Development
- Close and manage anchor studio partnerships (film, gaming, streaming)
- Negotiate distribution, co-marketing, and integration partnerships with exchanges, wallets, and platforms
- Build the Japanese and Southeast Asia market entry strategy
- Represent RedCarpetHQ at industry conferences, investor meetings, and regulatory consultations
Team Building & Culture
- Hire and retain the executive team (CTO, CFO, CCO, Head of Film, Head of BD)
- Instil a culture that balances crypto speed with financial compliance discipline
- Set compensation, equity, and token incentive structures
- Serve as the internal translator between engineering, compliance, film, and investor-facing teams
Regulatory & Governance
- Maintain primary relationships with regulators across our operating jurisdictions
- Ensure the company operates within its VASP license and securities compliance framework
- Oversee corporate governance, board reporting, and audit processes
Ideal Candidate Profile
Must-Have Experience
- Film/Entertainment Finance: 5+ years structuring film investment vehicles (SPVs, profit participation agreements, slate financing, or media private equity)
- Asian Markets: Deep operational network in Singapore, Hong Kong, and/or Japan entertainment and financial ecosystems
- Regulated Business Operator: Has navigated financial services licensing (VASP, securities, payments, or banking) as a business leader — not just as an advisor
Strongly Preferred
- Crypto literacy: Understands smart contracts, DeFi mechanics, and token economics well enough to discuss them credibly with engineers and investors
- Institutional investor network: Existing relationships with crypto VCs (a16z crypto, Dragonfly, Maven 11, etc.) and/or media-focused funds
- Public speaking and media presence: Comfortable representing the company at conferences, on podcasts, and in press
- Multiple market operator: Has scaled a company across Singapore, Hong Kong, and Japan simultaneously
Not Required But Nice to Have
- Prior startup founding experience (successful or failed)
- Film production or distribution background (understanding the creative side)
- Japanese language skills
- Prior interaction with BVI regulatory frameworks
Competencies We Value
- Bilingual thinking: Can explain blockchain to a film producer and film finance to a crypto VC in the same day
- Regulatory pragmatism: Understands that compliance is a competitive moat, not just a cost center
- Storytelling: Can craft a narrative that makes film tokenization feel inevitable, not speculative
- Capital discipline: Understands that a seed-stage company in a regulated space must spend carefully on compliance before growth
- Network leverage: Knows who to call before knowing what to Google
