At Gallop Intelligence, we are building the AI platform to modernize these systems for Fortune 500 companies. Founded by veterans from Lovable, Google, and Amazon, we move incredibly fast. We went from zero to paying customers in just 3 months, and our platform is already deployed inside some of the largest enterprises in the world.

What You Will Do

As a Founding SWE on Data, you will have outsized impact. You won't just be writing code; you will be shaping our technical DNA, culture, and architecture. You will build the systems that understand and modernize enterprise data estates - the relational databases, data warehouses, and pipelines that legacy applications depend on. That means deep analysis of legacy schemas, stored procedures, triggers, and ETL jobs; automated translation and migration paths from legacy platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata, Cloudera/Hadoop) to modern targets (PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Snowflake, cloud-native warehouses); and validation frameworks that prove functional and data equivalence at scale. You will also build the ingestion, parsing, indexing, and knowledge graph systems that make this data layer legible to every agent on our platform - all with data quality and security guarantees that hold up inside highly regulated enterprise environments. You will architect, ship, and own these systems end-to-end.

You Are a Good Fit If

• You've lived inside databases and warehouses: You deeply understand how relational databases and DWH platforms actually work - query engines, dialects, stored procedures, partitioning, indexing strategies - and you've felt the pain of what makes them hard to leave.
• You've done real migrations: You have hands-on experience migrating production systems between platforms (e.g., SQL Server → PostgreSQL, Oracle → cloud, Cloudera → BigQuery), including schema conversion, SQL dialect translation, data movement, cutover planning, and reconciliation/validation.
• You've wrangled data at scale: You have shipped production data pipelines, ETL/ELT systems, or large-scale indexing/retrieval infrastructure, and you know where they break.
• You think in systems: You quickly comprehend intricate technical landscapes - gnarly legacy schemas, undocumented data flows, decade-old stored procedure logic - and translate them into elegant architectural designs.
• You have deep technical chops: Extensive professional engineering experience. Our core stack is Python, TypeScript, and React; expert-level SQL across multiple dialects is a big plus.
• You want extreme ownership: You are willing to dive into the unknown, pick up whatever knowledge you're missing fast, and do what it takes to get the job done.
• You have high standards: You take pride in your craft and care deeply about building fast, reliable, modern experiences that delight customers.
• You thrive in chaos: You are highly comfortable with ambiguity and figuring things out in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
