About Gumb
Gumb AG is a modern Swiss software solution for clubs, associations and teams. We help organizations manage schedules, communication and members in one place – used by sports clubs, music groups and community teams across the German-speaking world.
We're a small, fully remote team. You work directly with the founder – no agency, no middleman.
What we're looking for
A frontend developer with a sharp eye for design, conversion and clean technical execution. You don't just complete tasks – you think along, spot problems early and bring ideas to the table.
Your responsibilities
- Improve UI/UX: spacing, typography, hover states, shadows, mobile layout
- Maintain and update content: texts, images and page sections
- Boost performance: image compression, lazy loading, Core Web Vitals
- Apply Next.js best practices: image optimization, SSR/SSG, clean code structure
- Develop landing pages: user flow, structure and conversion optimization
Requirements
Solid, hands-on Next.js experience – this is a real coding role. You write and understand the code yourself. AI tools as support are fine, but they don't replace genuine knowledge. We verify this in the interview.
- Good CSS knowledge / Tailwind
- TypeScript experience is a plus
- First experience with landing pages, SEO or conversion optimization is a plus
- Independent, structured and reliable working style
- German language skills at B2 level or higher – all communication, coordination and documentation is in German. This is a firm requirement.
Work model
Freelance only – invoicing basis. You need a valid self-employment registration in your country (sole trader, Kleingewerbe, FOP, działalność gospodarcza or equivalent), or the willingness to register one. No employment contract, no Employer of Record.
What we offer
- 100% remote, flexible hours
- Direct collaboration with the founder – fast decisions, short feedback loops
- Real influence on product and website development
- €16/hr net, invoiced monthly
- Students welcome if self-employment registration is in place
How to apply
Please send the following in German:
- A Next.js project or live website you worked on (if available)
- Your current self-employment status (registered / willing to register)
- Your preferred start date (ideally within the next 1–2 weeks)
- Your German language level
Note for applicants from Poland, Ukraine, Hungary and Georgia:
We explicitly welcome applications from these countries. Please note: this role requires strong German language skills (B2 or higher). All communication is in German – this is non-negotiable.
