About the job

*About the Role
*

VeVe is looking for an Automation First QA Engineer to join our Quality Engineering team. This role is built for someone who treats automation as the default way of working, not an afterthought bolted onto manual testing. You'll design, build, and maintain automated test coverage across our web, API, and mobile surfaces, embedding quality directly into the development lifecycle rather than gatekeeping it at the end.

We're looking for someone who thinks in terms of test strategy and systems, not just test scripts, someone who can look at a feature, identify the highest-leverage places to automate, and build reliable, maintainable coverage that the whole engineering team can trust.

*What You'll Do
*

Design and implement automated test frameworks and suites spanning web, API, and mobile platforms.
Champion an "automation first" mindset, evaluating each new feature or bug fix for automatability from day one, rather than automating only after manual testing is complete.
Build and maintain CI/CD-integrated test pipelines so automated suites run reliably on every build, catching regressions before they reach production.
Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and designers throughout the SDLC to embed quality checkpoints early.
Own and evolve test architecture decisions: framework selection, test data management, environment strategy, and reporting/observability for test results.
Triage automated test failures quickly, distinguishing real defects from flaky tests, and continuously improve suite reliability and speed.
Write clear, thorough bug reports and collaborate with engineering to drive issues to resolution.
Contribute to test strategy for new products/features, including risk based test planning and coverage prioritization.
Mentor other QA engineers on automation best practices and help raise the automation maturity of the broader team.
Perform targeted manual/exploratory testing where automation isn't yet practical or where human judgment adds the most value (usability, edge cases, new feature exploration).

What We're Looking For

*Must-haves
*

3–6+ years of experience in QA/SDET roles with a strong focus on test automation (not primarily manual testing).
Hands-on experience building automated tests across at least two of: web UI, API, and mobile.
Proficiency with automation frameworks/tools.
Solid programming/scripting skills (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Java) sufficient to build and maintain test frameworks, not just record and playback tools.
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
Strong understanding of QA fundamentals: test planning, risk based prioritization, defect lifecycle, and reporting.
Comfortable working in a fast moving, remote first environment with distributed collaboration.

*Nice-to-haves
*

Experience testing blockchain, Web3, or digital collectibles/NFT products.
Familiarity with performance or load testing tools.
Experience with test data management and environment provisioning strategies.
Exposure to observability/monitoring tools for production quality signals.
Prior experience mentoring or leading a QA team's automation strategy.

*What Success Looks Like
*

New features ship with meaningful automated coverage from day one, not added weeks later.
Regression cycles shrink as automated suites take on more of the repetitive testing burden.
Flaky tests are rare, and failures are trusted signals the team acts on quickly.
The broader engineering team sees you as a partner in building quality in, not a bottleneck at the end.

*Why VeVe
*

Fully remote team with a culture that values ownership and autonomy.
Opportunity to shape test strategy and automation architecture from the ground up rather than inheriting a rigid legacy process.
Work on products at the intersection of entertainment, technology, and digital collectibles.
