Co-Founder & CTO (Australia Preferred) – AI EdTech (Flutter/Supabase)

The Vision

We are building Chirpee, an AI-powered educational companion designed to revolutionize language acquisition through real-time complexity adjustment and multimodal interaction. We are 3 weeks from MVP launch.

With a 7-person team in South Africa finalizing the build, we are seeking a technical co-founder to lead our Australian headquarters, drive our technical roadmap, and head our first formal seed round.

The Tech Stack

•Frontend:
Flutter (Initial launch: Windows Desktop; following: Apple Desktop/Mobile)

•Backend:
Supabase (Auth, DB, RLS, Edge Functions, pgvector)

•AI:
Google Gemini Flash (Dynamic lesson generation, translation, and grammar synthesis)

•Payments:
Paystack (Africa) & Stripe (Australia/Global)

The Deal: Equity & Compensation

This is a founding role for a builder who wants significant "skin in the game" and a clear path to liquidity.

•Initial Equity:
15% Stake via a Post-Money SAFE, ensuring your percentage is locked in relative to the current team and protected against immediate dilution.

•Vesting:
5% vests immediately upon successful MVP launch; 10% vests monthly over the following 12 months.

•Salary:
$0 initially. We are currently a 7-person team in the "sweat equity" phase to maximize valuation before our first priced round.

•The Compensation Trigger:
competitive market-rate salary (benchmarked to your region) triggers automatically upon reaching a target Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR) milestone or securing our first Seed investment round.

•The Payment Hierarchy:
As a core pillar of the executive team, you are the first person on the payroll.

Our financial order of operations is:
1.Infrastructure & API costs → 2. CTO Salary → 3. Rest of Founding Team.

What You’ll Lead

•War-time Execution:
In the first 90 days, you’ll be in the trenches with our Tech Lead to finalize high-risk items: payment logic, AI token architecture, and persistent chat history (RAG).

•Architect for Growth:
Transition the MVP into a high-scale platform for online teachers, implementing Supabase Vector (pgvector) to reduce latency and manage thousands of concurrent queries.

•Strategic Leadership:
Once cash-flow positive, the role shifts to 80% Strategy/Leadership—overseeing fundraising, architectural governance, and hiring.

•Follow the Sun:
Manage the AU-side of a distributed development cycle, bridging the gap between our South African team and global expansion.

Immediate MVP Roadmap

You will hit the ground running by overseeing/finalizing:

•Regional pricing architecture (USD vs. Emerging Markets).

•AI Caching/Memory logic to optimize Google AI costs.

•Automated Auth flows and Windows App licensing/security.

•Resolution of UI/UX bugs (Microphone logic, currency display).

Who You Are

•Senior Flutter Developer (5+ years):
Deep experience with Supabase, PostgreSQL, and architecting for scale.

•Strategic Lead:
Ready to lead the technical vision and head the technical side of our first formal investment round.

•Location:
While we are focused on establishing our headquarters in Australia, we are open to world-class talent who can bridge the gap between our South African dev hub and global markets.
