About the job
About Lens: Lens is building the Information Quality Score (IQS) — a sentence-level AI system that evaluates the accuracy, relevance, and fairness of information across news articles, research papers, financial reports, and policy documents. We serve four verticals: news and media, academic and research institutions, legislative and policy organizations, and financial services firms. We're an early-stage company building the infrastructure layer for a more epistemically honest world.
Role Overview
Lens is hiring its first Financial Analyst to support financial operations and strategic planning. You'll work directly with leadership to build and maintain financial models, track unit economics, support fundraising materials, and help drive data-informed decision-making across the business.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain financial models: revenue forecasting, burn rate, headcount planning, and scenario analysis
- Track and report on key financial and operational metrics: ARR, CAC, LTV, gross margin, and runway
- Support preparation of board materials, investor updates, and fundraising decks
- Assist in budgeting and variance analysis across departments
- Work with the CRO and sales team on deal economics, pricing models, and commission structure analysis
- Manage and reconcile financial data across accounting and revenue systems
- Support due diligence processes for partnerships, investments, or financing rounds
What We're Looking For
- 2–4 years in financial analysis, investment banking, corporate finance, or a similar analytical role
- Strong financial modeling skills — Excel or Google Sheets fluency is required; experience with financial planning tools (Mosaic, Runway, Causal) is a plus
- Comfort with startup metrics and SaaS unit economics (ARR, churn, NRR, CAC payback)
- High attention to detail — the numbers you produce inform decisions and investor conversations
- Clear communicator — you'll present analysis to leadership and external stakeholders
- Bonus: Prior experience at an early-stage startup; background in or familiarity with one of Lens's target verticals (media, research, legislative, financial services)
