The Opportunity:
As Head of Mobile Backend Development, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and scaling the backend services that powers our mobile applications. You will lead a team of talented backend engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment while ensuring the delivery of high-quality and reliable solutions. Your technical expertise and leadership will contribute to the overall success of our platform and drive our company's growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a team of backend engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to foster their growth and professional development.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including mobile frontend developers, product managers, and designers, to define backend requirements and deliver impactful features.
• Design, architect, and develop scalable and efficient backend solutions using .Net Core, C#, and Microservices architecture.
• AWS services to build and maintain a reliable and secure cloud-based infrastructure for our mobile applications.
• Ensure the team follows best practices in software development, code reviews, testing, and deployment to maintain high-quality standards and optimal performance.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential to enhance our backend systems and drive innovation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the team, optimising development processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Collaborate with other engineering managers and leaders to align technology strategies and contribute to the overall technical roadmap.
• Handle performance evaluations, resource planning, and recruitment efforts to build a strong and capable backend development team.

What You Bring:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience (7+ years) in backend development using .Net Core, C#, and Microservices architecture.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-based infrastructure.
• Previous experience in an engineering management role, demonstrating the ability to lead and inspire technical teams.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong aptitude for technical leadership and decision-making.
• Solid understanding of software development best practices, including coding standards, version control, testing, and deployment.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in agile development methodologies and project management tools.
• Passion for staying updated with the latest technologies and a drive to innovate and improve existing systems.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

This is an equity-only position. You’ll receive a significant equity stake in exchange for your time and skills. There is no cash compensation at this stage. Once we reach funding milestones, paid opportunities will open first to equity contributors.
