General Responsibilities:
The Corporate Quality Engineer is responsible for all facets of quality in the production phase. Position will require up to 40% travel (including international).
Examples of Typical Activities:
- Comply with all Quality Management System processes/standards/deliverables
- Evaluate consumer returns to identify root cause and work with other functions (Manufacturing, Engineering) to identify appropriate corrective actions; complete all required documentation and reporting
- Review all internal and external root cause/corrective action submissions including supporting evidence, preventive actions and lessons learned; resolve any identified inadequacies
- Conduct regular on-site factory quality process and product audits to provide oversight, ensure quality system compliance; audits of sub-suppliers to be conducted as required
- Conduct internal audits of the Quality Management System; work cross-functionally to resolve any identified inadequacies
- Analyze customer (ref. subcommittee, on-line reviews), supplier and internal data; identify issues and trends and refer to CAPA process
- Provide relevant metrics and reporting
Required Experience
BS Degree in technical field required; 2-5 years of experience in quality. Preferred experience with Juvenile products.
Required Technical Competencies
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
- Project Management Skills – ability to follow project plans and meet key milestones on time
- Computer Skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Knowledge of manufacturing: injection molding and plastics
- Understanding of and experience with Quality Disciplines -
- ISO 9000 knowledge and experience (Procedures and Work Instructions)
- Quality Planning (FMEAS, Control Plans)
- Effective Corrective Action (5-Why); exposure to Six Sigma, Shainin preferred
- Effective Prints and Specifications preferred
