About the job

About Upthrust
Upthrust is a B2B growth agency. We run Google Ads, Meta Ads, and LinkedIn campaigns - and design landing pages, websites, and brand systems - for B2B SaaS and services companies across India and SE Asia.
Design at Upthrust isn't decoration. It's performance. Landing pages need to convert. Ad creatives need to stop the scroll. Brand systems need to scale across campaigns.
We're hiring a Creative Intern who thinks before they open Figma, moves fast, and learns by shipping real work - not by watching tutorials.

Why this internship is different
Most design internships are broken. The intern resizes banners, makes decks pretty, and leaves with a certificate and nothing real to show.
Here, you'll be on live client projects from Week 2. Your landing pages will go live. Your ad creatives will run on Meta and LinkedIn. Your audits will be acted on.
If you finish the internship having done great work, you earn a ₹10,000 joining bonus - and the kind of portfolio pieces most designers don't get until 2–3 years in.

The assignment reward
After your portfolio call, we send you a real design brief. You do the work. Submit it. Top 3 submissions win Amazon vouchers - regardless of whether you join us.
AI tools are allowed and encouraged. You defend every decision live in the walkthrough.

What you'll do

  • Design landing pages for B2B SaaS and services clients - from wireframe to production-ready Figma
  • Create ad visuals for Meta, LinkedIn, and Google Display campaigns
  • Audit live pages for friction, hierarchy issues, and conversion gaps
  • Produce wireframes and design explorations from structured briefs
  • Iterate on designs based on direct feedback - same day, no ego
  • Document your design reasoning clearly in Notion

What the first 60 days look like
Week 1–2:

  • Set up tools, understand the design and marketing workflow
  • First design exploration on a live client brief
  • Take feedback and iterate the same day

Month 1:

  • Ship 1–2 production-ready designs with guidance from the lead designer
  • Audit one live client landing page independently - present findings with reasoning
  • Demonstrate AI tools visibly in your actual workflow

Month 2:

  • Own small design tasks end-to-end - brief to final file
  • Present design decisions with reasoning to the team
  • If the work is there: full-time conversion conversation begins

You're right for this if

  • You've worked in Figma - components, auto layout, clean file structure
  • You think about the problem before you think about the pixels
  • You share work-in-progress to get feedback, not just polished work to get approval
  • You're actively using AI tools in your design process (Claude, ChatGPT, Figma AI, Nano Banana)
  • You take direct feedback well and come back stronger
  • You want to learn by shipping - not by observing

Non-negotiables

  • Figma proficiency: components, auto layout, basic prototyping - this is your home
  • Problem-first thinking: you understand the brief before you touch the canvas
  • AI tools in your workflow: Claude, ChatGPT, or Figma AI - you need to be actively using at least one
  • Speed: you don't spend 3 days on one screen - you iterate fast and get feedback early
  • Communication: you can explain why you made a design decision, not just what you made

What you'll learn

  • Month 1: How to design for conversion - landing pages, ad creatives, hierarchy, and messaging alignment
  • Month 2: How to own a design task end-to-end - brief, exploration, feedback, final file
  • Month 3: How a performance marketing agency thinks about design - outcomes, not aesthetics

Tools we use
Design: Figma (with Figma AI + Dev Mode), paper.design
AI: Claude, Claude Cowork, Claude Artifacts, ChatGPT, Nano Banana
Ops: Notion, Slack

Why Upthrust

  • Real client work from Week 2 - not internal projects or busy work
  • Direct mentorship from the lead designer and growth team
  • Your work goes live - it's in front of real audiences
  • AI-native culture - you'll learn how to use AI as a design multiplier, not a replacement
  • Clear path: strong internship → full-time Creative Designer offer
  • ₹10K joining bonus + assignment Amazon voucher (top 3 submissions)
