*About FIE *
FIE: Foundation for International Education is an independent, values-driven nonprofit based in London. For 25+ years, we have delivered study abroad programs to students from 50+ US colleges and universities across seven locations: London, Dublin, Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, Rabat, and Amman.
*About the Role *
The Marketing Intern works directly with FIE’s Director of Marketing on live outreach campaigns. The role starts with the audience research that drives those campaigns — identifying which schools to reach — and progresses into copywriting, social media content, and graphic design as the term goes on.
By the end of the placement, the intern will have contributed to a live campaign from research through to published content.
*Key Responsibilities *
- Audience strategy and research
Build targeted audience segments across dimensions such as academic discipline, program type, and concentration theme
Identify and verify the right contacts at target institutions, and assemble clean, well-structured lists
Validate data for accuracy and completeness before campaigns go out
- Content and social media
Draft campaign copy — emails, landing-page blurbs, and calls to action — for the audiences you help define
Work with the marketing team to plan and write social content for Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn
- Design
Create branded assets — social graphics and email visuals — using FIE’s brand guidelines
- Signature Project
Contribute substantially to the development and delivery of a targeted marketing campaign, culminating in a portfolio-ready project that demonstrates audience research, content creation and campaign evaluation.
*Learning Outcomes *
By the end of the placement, the intern will be able to:
Analyse and segment target audiences using demographic, academic and behavioural criteria
Apply principles of digital marketing to develop content tailored to specific audiences and channels
Demonstrate proficiency in the use of digital marketing tools and technologies to support campaign planning and delivery
Evaluate campaign performance using basic marketing metrics and reflect on how data can inform future decisions
Demonstrate effective professional communication and project management skills within a remote working environment
Throughout the placement, the intern will receive regular mentorship, feedback and opportunities for reflection on their professional growth, marketing practice and career interests.
*Person Specifications *
- Currently enrolled student able to earn academic credit for the placement
- Marketing background or coursework preferred; interest or skill in social media, copywriting, or design is a plus
- US-based; able to work remotely
- Strong research instincts, attention to detail, and clear written communication
*Equality, Diversity and Inclusion *
