About the job

Are you ready to take the next step in your career? If you enjoy solving problems, working across complex healthcare systems, and playing a key role in improving patient care, this could be the right fit for you.

We’re looking for a PACS Implementation Engineer to join Sectra. This role is ideal for someone with 5–10 years of experience in system deployment, configuration, or technical implementation within healthcare IT. You’ll play a critical role in installing, configuring, and optimizing Sectra’s Enterprise Imaging solutions, helping hospitals and health systems deliver better care through smarter technology.

In this role you will:

  • Lead and execute deployments of Sectra’s Enterprise Imaging software, databases, and related tools
  • Configure integrations with third-party systems including PACS, EMRs, modalities, dictation systems, and AI platforms
  • Collaborate with project managers, healthcare IT teams, and customers to ensure successful implementations
  • Support and lead data migration activities during project transitions
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform diagnostics remotely or on-site
  • Deliver technical training sessions and mentor junior team members
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within deployment processes
  • Occasionally work outside of standard hours to support go-lives and critical implementations

,

To be successful in this role, you should:

  • Have 5–10 years of experience deploying or supporting complex enterprise software systems, ideally within healthcare IT
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent technical experience
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of PACS, DICOM, and system architecture in a medical imaging environment
  • Have experience with Windows Server environments, virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, or Azure), and network configurations (VPN, DNS, firewalls, routing)
  • Be skilled in installing, configuring, and upgrading enterprise software applications
  • Have working knowledge of databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar) and basic scripting (PowerShell, Python, or Bash)
  • Be confident leading technical deployments and customer discussions independently
  • Be detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple concurrent projects
  • Be willing to work occasional off-hours to support customer go-lives or urgent system needs

Nice-to-haves (not required to apply):

  • Prior experience deploying or administering PACS, RIS, or VNA solutions in a healthcare environment
  • Familiarity with cloud-hosted infrastructure or hybrid deployment models
  • Understanding of security best practices (data encryption, certificates, VPN tunnels, authentication protocols)
  • Experience with data migrations, system upgrades, or disaster recovery planning
  • Exposure to Linux-based servers or containerized environments
  • Experience providing technical training or customer onboarding sessions

Why this role?

  • You’ll directly contribute to solutions that improve healthcare workflows and patient outcomes
  • You’ll gain experience with complex enterprise imaging environments and global deployments
  • It’s a strong growth opportunity toward senior engineering, project management, or solution architecture roles
  • You’ll join a mission-driven team solving real-world challenges in healthcare

Other Information

  • We recruit on an ongoing basis, and the goal is for the right candidate to start as soon as possible
  • The salary range for this position is $95,000–$125,000, based on experience and qualifications
  • Sectra provides a competitive total rewards package including comprehensive benefits, retirement plan with matching, and career development programs

Sectra celebrates diversity and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to an inclusive environment for all employees and applicants and will make all employment-related decisions without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, or veteran status.
