Job Summary
The GNSS Field Application Engineer provides technical support for Quectel GNSS product line for customer integration with Quectel product. Provide on-site and develops demonstration applications to better enable customers to utilize Quectel's solutions.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for Quectel's GNSS product line.
- Provide Pre-Sales and Post-Sales technical support and customer training on Quectel wireless modules and development tools.
- Provide quick responses to customer technical enquiries, being prepared to travel for on-site support across north America.
- Be able to give product presentations and conduct product and tool training for customers on-site.
- Provide tangible feedback and feasible Quectel solutions to customers, based on their application requirements.
- Develop simple demonstration applications to help customers evaluate and integrate Quectel modules quicker and more effectively.
- Prepare Weekly Technical Reports indicating the support activity and open issue progress.
Requirements and Skills
Technical Skills
1-GNSS Expertise
- Experience in GNSS-related development or customer technical support.
- Strong knowledge of GNSS technologies, standards, and performance metrics (TTFF, accuracy, multipath mitigation, etc.).
- Proficient with GNSS evaluation tools (e.g., u-center, LabSat, Spirent) for data analysis and root cause troubleshooting.
2-Hardware Skills
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, PCB layouts, and component datasheets.
- Hands-on experience with UART, SPI, I2C interfaces, power management, and RF layout best practices.
- Understanding of RF front-end design (LNA, SAW filters, antenna matching) is a strong advantage.
- Proficient soldering and hardware rework skills.
3-Software Skills
- Familiar with embedded C/C++ programming.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (Python preferred) and Linux-based systems.
General Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a hands-on, customer-focused approach.
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal); additional languages are a plus.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple customer engagements independently.
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field preferred.
