Part-Time Video Editor (YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels & Long-Form Content)

Responsibilities

1. Edit founder-led content for YouTube, Instagram Reels, and Shorts.
2. Transform raw footage into engaging, high-retention content that aligns with current platform trends.
3. Add captions, motion graphics, B-roll, sound effects, music, and transitions where appropriate.
4. Identify and create strong hooks to maximize viewer engagement and watch time.
5. Repurpose long-form videos into multiple short-form clips.
6. Maintain a consistent editing style that reflects the West Haze brand.
7. Collaborate with the founder and marketing team to implement feedback quickly.
8. Deliver edited videos on time and meet agreed deadlines.
9. Organize project files and ensure smooth content handoff.

What We're Looking For

1. Experience editing content for YouTube, Instagram Reels, and Shorts.
2. Strong understanding of retention-focused editing and social media content trends.
3. Ability to independently make creative editing decisions from raw footage.
4. Reliable communication and consistency in meeting deadlines.
5. Proficiency with Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar editing software.
6. Portfolio showcasing relevant video editing work.

About the Role

We will provide the raw footage, content direction, and creative brief. Your role is to turn that footage into polished, high-performing content that feels native to social platforms while staying true to the West Haze brand. Most content will be founder-led videos, branded content, product-focused storytelling, and educational content.
