POSITION OVERVIEW
CO/STUDIOS is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Ecommerce Developer with BigCommerce expertise to help build, optimize, and scale ecommerce experiences, storefronts, integrations, and digital systems for CO/STUDIOS portfolio companies and client brands.
This role combines frontend development, backend engineering, BigCommerce architecture, ecommerce integrations, performance optimization, and business problem-solving. You will work directly with founders, operators, strategists, designers, project managers, and leadership teams to create scalable digital commerce experiences that support customer acquisition, retention, operational efficiency, and long-term growth.
The ideal candidate understands that great ecommerce development goes beyond code. This person can translate business needs into scalable technical solutions, improve customer experience, support operational workflows, and create measurable outcomes for client brands.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, maintain, and optimize BigCommerce storefronts for CO/STUDIOS portfolio companies and client brands.
Build custom BigCommerce themes, storefront components, checkout experiences, and ecommerce functionality that enhance customer experience, improve conversions, and support long-term business growth.
Work with BigCommerce Stencil, Page Builder, storefront APIs, checkout customization, and third-party integrations.
Architect and implement integrations between BigCommerce and third-party platforms, including ERP, CRM, fulfillment, subscription, marketing, analytics, customer support, data warehousing, and business intelligence systems.
Support headless or composable commerce implementations using BigCommerce APIs, GraphQL, REST APIs, React, Next.js, or similar modern frontend frameworks.
Collaborate with founders, operators, designers, strategists, project managers, and stakeholders to translate business objectives into scalable technical solutions.
Support the launch, growth, and optimization of brands across consumer products, healthcare, technology, entertainment, food & beverage, and other emerging industries.
Optimize ecommerce performance, accessibility, SEO, analytics, security, conversion paths, and overall user experience through continuous testing and improvement.
Develop and maintain custom APIs, middleware, automation workflows, and integrations that support operational efficiency across multiple brands or business units.
Participate in technical planning, code reviews, troubleshooting, QA, deployment workflows, and the establishment of development standards and best practices.
Contribute to innovation, technical excellence, and the ongoing evolution of the CO/STUDIOS ecommerce and technology ecosystem.
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of ecommerce, full-stack, or software development experience, including 3+ years of hands-on BigCommerce development.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, APIs, Git, and modern ecommerce development workflows.
Experience building and customizing BigCommerce storefronts, themes, checkout flows, product experiences, and integrations.
Familiarity with BigCommerce Stencil, Page Builder, Storefront APIs, Checkout SDK, GraphQL, REST APIs, performance optimization, SEO, accessibility, security, and analytics.
Experience integrating ecommerce platforms with ERP, CRM, fulfillment, subscription, marketing, analytics, customer support, or BI systems.
Familiarity with React, Next.js, headless BigCommerce, composable commerce, CI/CD, scalable hosting, caching, or performance monitoring is a plus.
Strong communication, problem-solving, ownership, and collaboration skills, with experience supporting multiple brands, clients, or business units in ecommerce, agency, startup, or high-growth environments.
