You will champion a culture of quality excellence throughout the organization, fostering continuous improvement, accountability, and operational rigor.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Build and lead the quality function, including future hiring, team development, and organizational growth
  • Serve as the primary advocate for quality across engineering, operations, supply chain, and leadership teams
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality metrics, providing regular reporting and insights to senior management
  • Develop supplier quality programs, including supplier qualification, audits, corrective actions, and ongoing performance monitoring
  • Partner with supply chain teams to ensure component quality, traceability, and supplier compliance
  • Support manufacturing readiness, process validation activities, yield improvement initiatives, and production quality objectives
  • Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of a scalable Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 9001 standards
  • Lead the company's ISO 9001 certification efforts and ongoing compliance activities
  • Establish and maintain documentation control systems, training programs, and internal audit processes
  • Operationalize and continuously improve core quality processes, including Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR), Incoming Quality Control (IQC), Material Review Board (MRB), and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
  • Define inspection plans, acceptance criteria, quality standards, and measurement methodologies across manufacturing operations
  • Drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve product reliability and operational performance
  • Foster a culture of quality ownership, accountability, and excellence across the organization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related technical discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in quality engineering, quality systems, manufacturing quality, or related roles
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and improve supplier quality performance in a production environment
  • Proven experience building and implementing a Quality Management System (QMS) from the ground up
  • Demonstrated success achieving and maintaining ISO 9001 certification
  • Strong knowledge of core quality processes, including NCR, IQC, MRB, and CAPA
  • Experience working in hardware manufacturing environments such as energy, industrial equipment, automotive, aerospace, or similar industries
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on within a fast-paced startup environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making
  • Proven leadership experience across Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), Quality Management Systems (QMS), and Quality Planning (QP)
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers and global supplier networks
  • Experience with electrochemical systems, hydrogen technologies, or other complex industrial products preferred
  • Professional certifications such as ASQ CQE, CQA, CMQ/OE, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, ISO Lead Auditor, or equivalent quality certifications strongly preferred
