Mandate Campaign Delivery Engine
Compensation Senior — Base + Performance Bonus + Equity
Ad-ops operator to stand up the campaign management, trafficking, inventory and billing infrastructure behind the Ad Network; direct ownership of delivery SLAs and advertiser-facing reporting.
About Barsys
Barsys is a consumer-robotics and software company building the first first-party, intent-based advertising network for the U.S. spirits and beverage category — a $110B retail category that absorbs over $7B in annual U.S. media spend at industry display click-through rates of approximately 0.3%. The Barsys platform combines a six-generation hardware portfolio, a multi-million-user consumer cocktail-making application, and the Barsys Ad Network — a closed-loop, owned-inventory monetization layer that reaches consumers at the moment of cocktail preparation, not the moment of purchase. The Company is AI-native, with the majority of its operating work streams AI-enabled, and is venture-backed with a Growth Round currently funding the build-out of the Ad Network commercial organization.
Role Summary
The Head of Ad Operations builds and runs the operational backbone of the Barsys Ad Network. This is the function that converts a signed insertion order into delivered impressions, accurate billing, and advertiser-grade reporting — the unglamorous infrastructure that determines whether the Network compounds. The role owns campaign trafficking across the Network's six ad products (Recipe-Integrated, Display, Trend & Insights, Branded Recipe, Sponsored Trend Reports, Targeted Campaign / managed service), inventory management against the consumer application's monthly impression base, fill-rate optimization against published milestones, and the billing and reporting systems that make the Network credible to procurement and finance counterparts at holdco buyers.
Why Barsys, Why Now
Beverage advertising is the most mis-targeted category in large-scale consumer marketing. The $110B U.S. spirits category absorbs over $7B in annual U.S. media spend, clearing at industry display CTR of approximately 0.3% — brands pay for impressions at the precise moment consumers are least decisional. Barsys inverts the model: the advertising surface is the cocktail-making moment itself, which carries occasion, intent, and (via first-party signal) consumer taste history. The Ad Network is engineered to deliver an attribution narrative no proxy-based programmatic platform can replicate: a closed-loop link between exposure and the conversion event itself. This is the structural pricing argument and the structural differentiator.
Key Responsibilities
• Stand up campaign-management, trafficking, inventory, and billing infrastructure end-to-end inside the first quarter.
• Own delivery SLAs across all four package tiers — from monthly performance reporting at entry tier through dedicated campaign-manager service at Category Leader tier.
• Drive fill-rate against the published three-year ramp; every percentage point compounds at near-zero marginal cost.
• Build advertiser-facing reporting standards that hold up to procurement scrutiny at holdco-level buyers.
• Partner with the Software, App & AI bench on the technical ad stack: tag management, bid-shading hooks, frequency caps, taste-data overlays.
• Own integration with the Finance function on revenue recognition, accruals, and audit-ready advertiser billing.
• Build and operate the Ad Ops Manager bench against impression-volume milestones.
• Manage the managed-service P&L for the Targeted Campaign offering — staffing, account servicing, weekly reporting cadence.
• Lead vendor selection and integration: ad server, CDP, attribution platform, billing system, BI.
Required Experience
• 10+ years operating ad ops, campaign management, or revenue operations at a programmatic or retail-media platform.
• Direct experience standing up trafficking, inventory, and billing infrastructure — not just operating an existing system.
• Documented fill-rate, viewability, and SLA-management track record at scale.
• Familiarity with ad serving (GAM, Kevel, equivalent), DMP/CDP integration, and programmatic auction mechanics.
• Operational fluency in revenue recognition, monthly billing accuracy, and procurement-grade reporting.
Preferred Qualifications
• Prior ad ops leadership at retail media (Walmart Connect, Amazon Ads, Instacart Ads) or intent-based DSP.
• Experience scaling campaign-management infrastructure from launch to mature operating scale.
• Background integrating ad ops with finance close cycles and audit workpapers.
• Prior managed-service P&L ownership.
