Job Title: Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Location & Work Mode: Hybrid (1–2 days in office), Vancouver, Canada

Experience: 2 to 5 Years

Role Summary

We are hiring for this position where the selected candidate will work on a large-scale cloud and web platform focused on improving product reliability and system quality. This role involves hands-on test automation, close collaboration with engineering teams, and contributing to quality practices across distributed teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, DevOps engineers, and designers
• Perform end-to-end product testing including requirements analysis, design reviews, and test planning
• Create and execute test strategies, test cases, and defect tracking workflows
• Develop and maintain automated test tools and frameworks based on product needs
• Analyze software quality, risks, and system behavior across releases
• Recommend improvements to enhance reliability, performance, scalability, and resilience
• Contribute individually while supporting a collaborative and high-performance engineering culture
• Stay current with testing best practices for web, cloud, and distributed systems

Must-Have Skills

• Hands-on experience in application testing for web or cloud-based systems
• Strong experience developing automated tests and test frameworks
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Groovy, or Shell
• Solid understanding of test design, execution, and defect management
• Experience working with Agile or Scrum-based development teams
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with global and distributed teams

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience working with containerized or microservices-based architectures
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Familiarity with Microsoft .NET environments
• Experience testing highly available or distributed systems
