  • Take ownership of and responsibility for bugfixes, enhancements, and new feature development for our existing configuration management software system
  • Work with D-Wave’s LabOps team to provide stable back ends and single-sources-of-truth for the custom front-end applications they build for their own use
  • Improve software architecture, reliability, maintainability, and performance through optimization, testing, and documentation
  • Work closely with software testing and DevOps team members to support reliable validation and deployment of software products for internal use
  • Mentor junior developers through technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing
  • Contribute to process improvements, technical discussions, and development best practices

What you will bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering, or a related discipline
  • 4+ years of relevant software development experience
  • Expertise in Java or other compiled object-oriented language
  • Expertise in SQL and relational database design
  • Experience designing, debugging, and optimizing software for reliability and performance
  • Experience with Git workflows including branching, merging, and pull requests
  • Experience with Linux
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within interdisciplinary teams
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn new technologies and domains

Bonus points

  • Experience with Python, Flask, and/or asyncio
