About the job
As a Ferric Applications Engineer, you will be responsible for actively driving and managing technology evaluation and adoption stages of Ferric innovative power converter products during the sales and business development processes. You must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships with customers and all stakeholders during the sales and support cycle.
Primary Responsibilities:
Customer Support
- Maintain expert level of product knowledge and applications
- Provide design, specification development, and evaluation support to customers, ODMs, contract manufacturers, integrators and distributors
- Listen, understand and convey customer requirements
- Provide/perform technical demonstrations and training for sales, customers and engineers at target accounts
- Assist in design and development of new products by bringing customers’ experiences and feedback into the design cycle
Collateral Creation
- Design PCB and package substrates for product evaluation
- Develop demonstration platforms for Ferric products with optimized performance for customer applications
- Generate technical graphs, charts, specifications, datasheets and application notes to articulately convey requirements and performance
Minimum Qualifications:
- BSEE or MSEE with 0-5 years of experience in Applications Engineering
- Knowledge of DC-DC power converters/regulators (Buck, Boost, Buck-Boost, LDO, etc.)
- Understanding of mixed-signal IC design and test
- Excellent communication skills and effectively be able to share information with others
- Experience with PCB design, including component selection, schematic capture, layout design, soldering, etc
- Test equipment: Oscilloscope, Digital Multimeter (DMM), Source Measure Unit (SMU), DC Power Supply Unit (PSU), Electronic Load, Spectrum Analyzer
Preferred Qualifications:
- Customer and sales support experience
- Strong knowledge of power management requirements of high performance computing, mobile platforms, automotive systems and optical modules
- Experience with IC package substrate design including parasitic extractions and power integrity analysis
- Proven project management skills
- Programming Languages: Python, Verilog, LaTeX
- Software: Cadence Virtuoso Suite, Cadence Allegro Package Designer, Cadence Allegro PCB Designer, Cadence Spectre, HSPICE, Ansys SIwave, Xilinx ISE, and Linux
