Role Overview

We are hiring a Head of Fintech & AI Banking Products to own the entire product function strategy, execution, and team as we build from 0→1 through early scale.

This is a hands-on, high-ownership role working directly with the Founder. You will define:

• What we build
• Why it matters
• How it works
• How it gets shipped

This is not a coordination role. You are expected to operate as a builder-minded product
leader who can move seamlessly between strategy and execution, while maintaining a high
quality bar in a fast-moving environment.

Core Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Ownership

0→1 Execution & Delivery

Fintech Platform Development

Own core financial systems and workflows

Compliance & Risk Systems

• Partner with compliance to build and ship: ○ KYC (Know Your Customer) ○ AML (Anti-Money Laundering) ○ Fraud detection and transaction monitoring
• Ensure systems meet real-world regulatory and operational requirements

AI-Native Product Development

• Define how AI is used across product experiences and internal workflows
• Leverage AI tools, agents, and prompting to accelerate product development
• Apply judgment to where AI adds value vs. introduces risk

Product Execution & Operating System

• Write high-quality PRDs, specs, and documentation (spec-first environment)
• Establish product operating standards across speed, quality, and decision-making
• Build lightweight systems that increase execution velocity

Customer & Market Insight

• Stay close to users, customers, and design partners
• Develop strong intuition for real-world financial workflows
• Continuously refine product direction based on feedback and data

Leadership & Company Impact

• Act as a direct partner to the Founder on product and company direction
• Align engineering, compliance, and future hires around product priorities
• Build and scale the product organization over time

Required Experience (Must-Haves)

• Product Leadership: 7–12+ years in product management, including senior leadership (Director, Group PM, Head of Product)
• Fintech Product Experience: Experience building and shipping B2B fintech or financial infrastructure products, including one or more: ○ Payments ○ Banking / money movement ○ Ledgers / reconciliation ○ Financial operations systems
• 0→1 Build Experience: Proven ability to define and launch products from early-stage environments
• Execution Strength: Track record of shipping high-quality products quickly in ambiguous environments
• Technical / Builder Fluency: Ability to work closely with engineers, prototype ideas, and validate product behavior
• AI Product Fluency: Practical experience applying AI tools, agents, or LLMs to product development or workflows
• Compliance Awareness: Exposure to regulated environments (KYC, AML, fraud, transaction monitoring, etc.)
• Strong Communication & Writing: Ability to create clear, structured product specs and make high-quality decisions

Preferred / High-Signal Background

• Experience at top fintech or infrastructure companies (e.g., Stripe, Brex, Ramp, Square, Plaid, Mercury)
• Experience at AI-native or highly technical startups
• Background working with financial institutions, exchanges, or complex financial systems
• Experience scaling product teams in early-stage companies
• Technical background (engineering or highly technical product roles)

What Success Looks Like (First 6 Months)

• Take ownership of product direction and execution from the Founder
• Ship meaningful product improvements and new features quickly
• Establish a clear product operating rhythm (specs, prioritization, execution)
• Build strong alignment across engineering and product
• Lay the foundation for scaling the product function
