About the job
Don’t miss your chance to join a global team that's transforming the way people travel as a Lead Analytics Engineer.
About iVisa
At iVisa we believe that traveling should be simple. That’s why 2.6M+ travelers have chosen us to facilitate their visas, passports, and other travel documents. We are the easiest, fastest, and simplest solution in the market. Our company is growing 80% year on year. We know our biggest strength is our people and we’re looking for the right new team members to help propel our culture and achieve our goals. Above all else, we always have fun!
About The Role
We are hiring a Lead Analytics Engineer to set the technical direction for how iVisa turns data into decisions. This is a senior individual contributor role with broad scope: you will own the architecture of the analytics layer end-to-end, from pipelines and modeling through the semantic layer, BI, and the AI-powered surfaces that sit on top.
This is not a dashboard-building role, and it's not a ticket queue. It's for someone who thinks in systems, partners directly with senior business leaders, and treats data products as outcomes, not deliverables. You'll work alongside the Data Engineering and Analytics leadership to shape what the platform becomes over the next two to three years, and you'll be the technical bar-raiser the rest of the team builds against.
The bar is proactive impact, strategic influence, and a platform that gets stronger every quarter without anyone asking it to.
Why iVisa
- Collaborative, friendly, and diverse culture: We foster an inclusive and vibrant atmosphere, featuring a dynamic and international environment with flat hierarchies and exceptionally amiable colleagues.
- Truly remote-first work environment: work from anywhere or everywhere - we encourage global travel.
- Access to continuous learning and cutting-edge AI tools, supported by dedicated budgets for professional development.
- Extended Family Leave policy: Our policy covers all birthing parents, non-birthing parents, and adopting parents.
- Thrive in a highly tech-savvy company equipped with cutting-edge tools and the power to make a substantial impact.
- Join us in our commitment to the planet and sustainability: For every iViser, we plant one tree, allowing you to contribute to our environmental initiatives.
- Rest and Relaxation: We offer flexible PTO for all team members.
As a Lead Analytics Engineer at iVisa, you will make an impact by:
- The analytics architecture: Setting the design for how raw data becomes trusted, well-modeled, query-ready datasets across the company. Making the build-vs-buy, batch-vs-streaming, and modeling-pattern calls that shape the next two years of the platform.
- The semantic layer. Owning the trusted source of metric definitions that powers dashboards, self-service, and AI agents alike. This is the layer that makes everything downstream agree on the numbers.
- AI-powered analytics. Leading the technical direction of our AI analytics stack, including RAG knowledge bases, LLM agents, and agentic workflows that proactively monitor data, surface insights, and answer business questions in natural language.
- The BI experience. Setting the standard for what a useful dashboard looks like at iVisa. Building the high-leverage ones yourself, and shape the self-service surfaces that scale insight beyond the data team.
- Pipelines and platform. Designing and operating scalable ETL/ELT and event-driven pipelines using Python, Spark, Airflow, and AWS services (Lambda, SQS, API Gateway), with the observability and incremental-load discipline that keeps them quiet at 3am.
- Engineering standards. Establishing and upholding the testing, documentation, lineage, CI/CD, and observability practices that the rest of the team builds against.
- Strategic partnership. Working directly with product, growth, operations, finance, and senior leadership. Surfacing the question before they ask it, flag the anomaly before it becomes a fire, and shape strategy rather than service requests.
- Technical leadership. Mentoring analysts and engineers, lead code and design reviews, and shape the technical roadmap of the analytics layer.
What makes you a great fit for this role:
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or closely related roles, with a track record of operating at the senior individual contributor level.
- Demonstrated experience designing analytics platforms end-to-end, not just contributing to them. You've made the architectural calls and lived with the consequences.
- Expert SQL, with strong discipline around modeling, testing, and documentation in SQL, Python, or frameworks like dbt.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python, Spark, Airflow, and a modern cloud warehouse (Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar). AWS depth is a plus; Azure or GCP work just as well.
- Experience designing and owning a semantic or metrics layer that the rest of the company depends on.
- Strong BI and dashboarding instincts, with a clear point of view on what makes a dashboard useful and a track record of shipping ones people actually use.
- Hands-on experience building AI-powered or agentic analytics solutions in production: LLM workflows, RAG, AI agents, or natural-language interfaces to data.
- Experience with event-driven architectures (Lambda, SQS, API Gateway, or equivalents) and a deep understanding of ingestion patterns, trade-offs, and failure modes.
- A consultative mindset and the confidence to challenge senior stakeholders when the solution won't scale, or won't actually solve the problem.
- A track record of raising the technical bar of teams you've been on, through mentorship, code review, and technical influence.
- A focus on outcomes, reliability, and long-term value, not tool loyalty.
Nice to haves:
- Experience with experimentation platforms (Statsig is a plus).
- Familiarity with attribution modeling, paid media data, or marketing analytics at scale.
- Open-source BI experience (Metabase, Superset) or contributions to a BI migration.
- Prior experience as the technical lead on a multi-quarter platform initiative (warehouse modernization, BI migration, real-time analytics rollout).
