Job Description:

Founded in Ann Arbor, MI IOSiX (pronounced "eye-oh-six") is at the forefront of the fleet telematics industry, and we're looking for a Data Engineer to join our team! IOSiX has a high performing and collegial work environment, where each employee has a chance to make an immediate impact.

If you are a technician who enjoys diving into the technical details of network systems, understands both light and heavy-duty platforms, and wants to apply some programming skills to automotive diagnostics, this role is a perfect fit. The ideal candidate understands the deep technical side of modern diagnostics and is comfortable bridging the gap between the service bay and software development.

What you’ll bring to the table:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field that provides a foundation in automotive systems, electronics, or similar disciplines.
  • 2+ years of demonstrable hands-on technical experience supporting vehicle systems, software, or testing environments (or a total of 4+ years of experience in lieu of a degree).
  • Strong understanding of modern vehicle architectures and module networking.
  • Deep knowledge of network buses and interpreting raw vehicle data.
  • Professional diagnostic experience with both light duty passenger vehicles and heavy-duty equipment.
  • Familiarity with standard and proprietary vehicle communication protocols (CAN, J1979, OBD, J1939, J2534, ISO 13400 DoIP, and OBDonUDS)
  • Introductory programming or scripting experience to assist with data configurations.
  • Experience using advanced scan tools and diagnostic equipment.

Professional Traits:

  • Highly analytical and logical problem solver.
  • Strong attention to detail when mapping large sets of data parameters.
  • Desire to transition from physical repair into a data and engineering focused role.
  • Ability to test, verify, and document complex network behaviors and communicate findings clearly with the team

IOSiX offers competitive compensation based on the candidate's experience. The position is Full Time, 40 hours per week and available immediately.

IOSiX is working to build a more diverse, inclusive, and authentic office, so if you’re excited about this position, please apply even if your previous experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification. Join us and be a part of the future of fleet telematics!
