Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Senior Electrical Engineer is to develop new and existing DiversiTech products. This position provides electrical engineering expertise for new product introductions, conducts technology research, performs field failure analysis, and completes compliance and certification activities.
Essential Duties
- Conducts New Product engineering tasks such as designing digital and analog circuits, embedding firmware, documenting procedures, prototyping, debugging, testing, and qualifying products prior to releasing to production.
- Designs and executes testing procedures, analyzing outcomes to ensure optimal performance of current products.
- Provides customer technical support and education when necessary.
- Conducts field failure analysis, addresses end of life subcomponents, and product certification updates.
- Researches long-term product quality and reliability including life-testing with datalogging.
- Performs factory support which includes yield issue resolution, and alternative component reviews for cost and availability improvement.
- Tracks weekly project status and participates in business opportunity, process improvement, and competitor product discussions as well as tear-down analysis.
- Ensures product certification and compliance activities are completed prior to the release of product to production.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required
Qualifications, Skills, Abilities and Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- 8 - 10 years of experience as an electrical engineer in a distribution environment
- Proven experience with embedded firmware development
- Experience utilizing lab equipment (VAC/VDC power supply, power tools such as bandsaw, drills), oscilloscope, waveform generator, digital multimeter (DMM), spectrum analyzer, and standalone single board computer (Arduino, Raspberry PI)
- Knowledge of circuit design and troubleshooting
- Ability to communicate technically complex information to a wide audience
- Advanced proficiency with programming development software such as C/C++ ( no OS, real-time controls) , Python (d atabases for automated analysis, data logging, GUI utilities) , and SQL ( database maintenance, My SQL Workbench)
- Additional desired development experience includes Phone app development (REACT-NATIVE, Node JS, Android Studio, XCODE) and Ubuntu Linux, Arduino/C++, and ESP32
- Proficiency with printed circuit board design and circuit simulation (SPICE)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience working in a fast paced and high-volume work environment.
- Proactive “self-starter” with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with employees on all levels, including executive leadership, as well as external vendors and consultants

Work Environment
This position works in an office setting. Requires regular use of office equipment including computers, phones, and printers.
