About Dancify

Dancify is a mobile-first festival platform for the global social dance community. The platform helps dancers discover events, connect with verified attendees, and organize their festival experience.

Current stage:

• Pre-launch MVP build

• Pilot festivals in Amsterdam

This is the MVP build phase targeting the first pilot festival release within 13 weeks.

The Role

You will build Dancify’s production mobile application in React Native using Expo for iOS and Android while collaborating closely with the backend developer.

The approved prototype and user flows will be provided as the UX, content, interaction, and permissions reference.

The prototype itself is not the production application repository.

You will integrate the mobile application with a versioned Node.js/PostgreSQL backend hosted on Google Cloud.

Compensation is equity-first and milestone-based. The role also includes a predefined deferred settlement cap of up to €6,000 EUR that may optionally be used in the future if the company secures funding or operating revenue.

Any future settlement remains entirely at company discretion and would only apply in exchange for reducing or repurchasing some portion of vested equity.

Contractors are not co-founders and do not receive governance or voting rights.

9. Matching deck/list, attendee profiles, filters, Pass / Yes / Dance Spark interactions
10. Connection requests, inbox, connection list, and push-notification navigation
11. Festival Hub with schedule, line-up, venues, announcements, and public preview states
12. Planner, My Day, saved/attending sessions, and schedule-conflict warnings
13. Coordination tools for rides, roommates, stays, and meetups
14. Organizer event, schedule, announcement, insight, and staff-role views
15. QR ticket scanner and check-in flows for authorized festival staff
16. Ticket-verification exception and moderation queues
17. Report, block, privacy, data-export, and account-deletion flows
18. Expo Push Service registration and notification handling
19. Deep linking, route guards, offline-safe ticket display, empty/error/loading states, and network resilience
20. TestFlight and Google Play closed-testing delivery

Weeks 1-3
Equity: 0.375%

Deliverables:
Expo/TypeScript foundation, navigation and state/query layer, Splash/Welcome, public discovery shell, contextual account gates, account type, SMS OTP, legal consent, Setup Complete, progressive profile screens, secure token/session handling, deep-link hydration, push registration and safe route guards.

M2: Events & Tickets
Weeks 4-6
Equity: 0.270%

Deliverables:
Event discovery and filters, event detail, Festival Hub preview, pass/pricing UI, external purchase handoff, upload/verify-ticket states, ticket wallet and QR, organizer event creation and management.

M3: Matching & Connections
Weeks 6-8
Equity: 0.300%

Deliverables:
Matching deck/list, filters, attendee profile cards, Pass/Yes/Dance Spark interactions, first-use profile completion, request inbox, accept/decline, connections list, push handling and deep-link navigation.

M4: Festival Hub & Planner
Weeks 8-11
Equity: 0.405%

Deliverables:
Public Hub preview, verified-attendee Hub, schedule/day/room filters, line-up, venues/map handoff, announcements, session details, My Planner, My Day, conflicts, coordination tools, organizer schedule/announcement UI and insights dashboard.

M5: Staff, Safety & Launch
Weeks 11-13
Equity: 0.150%

Deliverables:
Staff-role UI, ticket QR scanner/check-in states, ticket exception queue, moderation queue, report/block/privacy controls, data export/deletion request flows, performance and accessibility work, network/offline/error states, TestFlight and Play closed-testing builds, end-to-end QA.

Important Product Rules

• Guests can browse approved public content before signup.
• OTP is SMS only through Firebase.
• Profile completion is progressive rather than blocking initial signup.
• There is no free Confirm Going action that unlocks attendee functionality.
• Attendee access is granted only after an approved ticket purchase or verification path.
• Ticket access is event-specific.
• A ticket for one festival cannot unlock another festival.
• Matching is available to eligible signed-in dancers and does not require a festival ticket.
• Direct messaging and festival/workshop chat are not part of the MVP.
• Native Stripe checkout is not part of the baseline.
• Production schedules come from the backend and must not be hard-coded from prototype data.

Requirements

1. 3+ years building production React Native apps
2. Strong TypeScript experience
3. Strong React Navigation or equivalent production navigation experience
4. At least 2 published iOS/Android applications
5. Strong experience with the Expo ecosystem and EAS builds
6. Experience with Expo push notifications and deep-link navigation
7. Experience integrating authenticated REST APIs and handling server-side permission states
8. Experience with secure session/token storage
9. Comfortable implementing approved designs and flows precisely
10. Experience with camera/QR scanning and native device capabilities is strongly preferred
11. Experience handling offline/network/error states in production mobile applications
12. Self-directed and milestone-driven
13. Strong written English
14. Available for one weekly sync call

Intellectual Property & Ownership

All work produced under this agreement, including code, technical systems, assets, implementations, and documentation, becomes the exclusive intellectual property of Dancify upon creation and milestone approval.

Contractors are not co-founders and do not receive governance rights, voting rights, or executive authority through equity compensation unless separately agreed in writing.
