Research Engineer Intern — Agent-to-Agent Networks
Aicoo is building the coordination layer for personal AI agents: a secure, permissioned Agent-to-Agent network where agents can communicate, delegate, and collaborate across user boundaries.
We are looking for a Research Engineer Intern to help us build cutting-edge systems and research prototypes in networked personal agents, agent-to-agent communication, tool use, memory governance, and secure delegation.
Responsibilities
You will work closely with the founding team on:
- Designing and implementing Agent-to-Agent network protocols for cross-boundary delegation and coordination.
- Building agent systems with tool use, skill execution, hierarchical memory, and controlled memory exposure.
- Developing research prototypes, benchmarks, and evaluation pipelines for agent utility, privacy, security, and robustness.
- Maintaining and improving open-source infrastructure, including documentation, examples, tests, and developer-facing tools.
- Contributing to research papers targeting top-tier ML/AI conferences such as NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, and ACL.
Requirements
We are especially interested in candidates who have:
- Strong hands-on engineering ability in Typescript and modern AI/agent frameworks.
- Familiarity with LLM agents, tool calling, memory systems, retrieval, workflows, or multi-agent systems, SKILLS, TOOLS.
- Experience maintaining or contributing to open-source projects.
- Ability to read research papers and turn ideas into working systems quickly.
- Strong ownership, clarity of communication, and taste for clean, reliable engineering.
Nice to Have
- Experience with MCP, LangGraph, AutoGen, OpenAI/Anthropic APIs, or similar agent infrastructure.
- Background in systems, security, databases, distributed systems, or ML infrastructure.
- Prior research experience or publications in AI, ML, NLP, agents, or systems.
