We’re a small, passionate founding team with deep experience in technology and entertainment. We’re looking for our first hire to help shape not just our product, but our culture, processes, and future.

The Role

As Product Designer, you’ll generate and synthesize insights from customer research into beautiful, intuitive, pragmatic user journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and designs that solve real customer problems around creative collaboration.

Reporting to our CTO, you’ll own product design from start to finish, work hands-on with customers to research and internalize their insights, iterate and test designs, and partner closely with engineering to create a tool that feels as intuitive to use as it is powerful.

This isn’t a “keep the train running” role. In this role, you will build close relationships with customers to explore and refine features ideas, offer design solutions, and create your own virtuous cycle of feedback and joy for customers facing unsolved problems in their day-to-day jobs. You’ll create and execute design and user experience research processes at Premise, help set the tone for collaboration, and foster the core team that will take us from MVP to market leader.

What You’ll Do

Define and own user experience research and customer journey mapping.

Engage directly with writers, studio execs, and other early users to uncover needs and validate solutions.

Translate research insights into elegant, testable prototypes and high-quality shipped product experiences.

Work side-by-side with the CTO and engineering team to design our products.

Lead the build and launch of our MVP (target: Q1 2026 – Q2 2026), balancing speed with thoughtful iteration.

Partner with founders on recruiting top-tier engineers and shaping our early culture.

What We’re Looking For

5–10+ years of product design experience, ideally in SaaS or creative collaboration tools.

Track record of generating powerful insights through user research.

Proven ability to shape ambiguous ideas into real, shipped products.

Track record of designing best-in-class products in early-stage or resource-constrained environments.

Strong technical fluency; comfortable in deep conversations with engineers.

Experience driving adoption and revenue growth — especially through collaboration features.

Passion for film, TV, or storytelling. Bonus for entertainment industry exposure.

Bonus for “first designer” or pre-seed startup experience.

Bonus for hands-on experience leveraging AI in powerful user experiences.

Education

BA / BS in related field
MA / MS / MBA in related field a plus
