About the Company

The company is rebuilding the foundation of the world's largest industry, insurance. In less than a year, the team has reached multi-seven-figure ARR and is growing 50% month over month. The company has raised two rounds from Tier 1 funds and has a team from Harvard, Berkeley, and Oxford, with prior experience at Optiver, AMD, and Palantir, as well as ICPC and NeurIPS backgrounds.

About the Role

The company is hiring a Forward-Deployed Engineer to deploy multi-modal, agentic AI systems into production with significant business impact. You will own client deployments end-to-end, from scoping through go-live, and act as the primary point of contact for senior client stakeholders. This is more technical and more product-owning than the average FDE role—you're not just deploying, you're shaping what the product becomes based on what works in production. You'll work directly with the CTO and the rest of engineering, and join a forward-deployed function that is still being built (currently one FDE on staff). Full relocation support is provided.

What You'll Own

Individually deploy multi-modal, agentic AI systems into production for senior client stakeholders

Own client deployments end-to-end, from scoping through go-live, as the primary point of contact

Build and manage client relationships, understanding challenges, aligning priorities, and becoming the trusted partner executives rely on to scale AI adoption

Design, build, and evolve AI agents that deliver optimal claims outcomes, prompt engineering, model integration, blitz prototyping using AI-assisted coding tools

Scope and develop new features that allow customers to scale while consistently improving claims results

Integrate the company's product into client environments, working hands-on with their tech teams on APIs and systems

Coordinate with the core platform team to ensure smooth delivery and feed actionable insights back into the product

Capture and share best practices in internal playbooks to scale Forward Deployed Engineering

Requirements

Must-Have

2+ years in a role combining technical depth with client-facing ownership, agent engineering, forward-deployed engineering, growth engineer, or founding engineer/founder

Solid technical foundation. Comfortable with Python, APIs, cloud platforms, and modern AI/ML tooling. Genuinely technical and can build

Familiarity with LLMs, prompt engineering, and agentic AI concepts. Comfortable using AI-assisted development workflows to ship fast

Strong client-facing communication. Can connect complex technical concepts to business outcomes for both technical and non-technical audiences

Founder-mode operating style. Takes ownership of problems, moves fast, jumps on client calls or writes integrations as needed

Based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco for in-person work. Full relocation support provided

Nice-to-Have

Prior FDE experience at a top AI company (Palantir, Anthropic, OpenAI, Scale, Cognition, etc.)

Agent engineering or growth engineering background

Founding engineer or founder experience

Backend engineering background plus solutions engineer experience (the combination, not solutions engineer alone)

ICPC, NeurIPS, or similar competitive technical pedigree
