About the job

Join a team that’s transforming lives. RS Medical has empowered more than 1.5 million patients to live pain-free, active lives — all from the comfort of their homes. We design and build prescription-grade medical devices that deliver effective pain relief and muscle rehabilitation, helping individuals with severe musculoskeletal conditions access safe, on-the-spot treatment when they need it most.

We’re seeking a Business Development Manager to play a critical role in advancing RS Medical’s mission by driving strategic growth across workers’ compensation, personal injury, and commercial healthcare markets. This role blends business development, market strategy, and operational execution. As a key partner across Sales, Operations, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and IT, you’ll help shape how new markets are entered, built, and scaled.

If you thrive at the intersection of strategy and execution, enjoy building processes where none exist, and want your work to directly impact both patient access and company performance, this role offers a meaningful opportunity to make a difference at RS Medical.

*Candidates must reside in Vancouver, WA or Portland, OR metropolitan area. This is a hybrid position. We’re excited to welcome local talent or those already planning a move; however, this position does not include relocation support*

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to open and scale new markets across workers’ compensation, personal injury protection (PIP), attorney, and commercial lines of business.
  • Translate state-specific statutes, regulatory guidance, fee schedules, and payer behavior into market-specific business strategy.
  • Lead market entry planning that accounts for downstream revenue cycle readiness, including intake, authorization, billing, adjudication, payment, and appeals workflows.
  • Monitor end-to-end revenue cycle processes that reduce denials, improve payment velocity, and maximize reimbursement.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and IT to ensure aligned execution from deal closure to cash.
  • Negotiate strategic partnerships with a focus on growth and profitability.
  • Build process where none exists by creating SOPs, playbooks, escalation paths, and decision frameworks for new and evolving markets.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs tied to revenue realization, operational efficiency, and overall market performance.
  • Represent RS Medical with regulators, attorneys, payors, TPAs, and provider partners as senior commercial and operational leader.
  • Drive continuous improvement in business development processes, leveraging technology and data analytics to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in healthcare business development (durable medical equipment preferred).
  • Demonstrated expertise in workers’ compensation, PIP, or complex commercial healthcare reimbursement models.
  • Proven ability to research, design, document, implement, and scale revenue-related processes across the full revenue lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of claims submission, adjudication, fee schedules, and payer contracting dynamics.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives with accountability for outcomes, not just activity.
  • Advanced analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.· Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred), reporting tools, and data analysis platforms.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company contribution
  • Annual paid vacation starting at 3 weeks, plus sick time and paid holidays
  • Life insurance, disability coverage, FSA/HSA options
  • Company-paid employee assistance program
