About the job
Living context. A persistent preference layer, owned by you
We're building the thing that should have existed before any of them.
Can't say much publicly yet, but: your personal data should work for you, not against you. Not as a tagline. As an architectural decision baked into every layer of the system.
If "privacy-first" makes you roll your eyes because nobody means it, good. We'd get along.
The product is built, patents are filed. We're looking for a founding engineer to help lead and ship it. We're building the future of personalized intelligence. We're early and building fast.
You'll be a Founding Engineer on the team. You'll ship product end to end, shape the architecture, and own entire systems. This is not a "pick up tickets" job. You'll be in the room for every product, design, and infra decision we make.
What you'll work on:
- Building the preference architecture and models: signal extraction, decay, provenance and portability
- The protocol layer: how any AI or system plugs in, with consent
- Consumer product surfaces: onboarding, chat, insights and planning
- Connector pipelines: Third-party integrations, OAuth, APIs and MCPs
Stack
TypeScript, Next.js, Fastify, Postgres (Drizzle), BullMQ, Redis, Turborepo.
You
- Ideally 4+ years shipping production software, at least one stint as a senior or staff engineer at a fast-moving company, but we will speak to passionate excellent engineers from all backgrounds
- Full-stack by default, opinionated about product, comfortable in ambiguity
- You care about the shape of the product, not just the code
- Bonus: you've worked on personal data, agent infra, graph systems, or consumer AI
Why join
- Founding equity, real ownership
- Ship to users from week one
- You'll help define a category, not iterate on someone else's roadmap
- Small team, high trust, no process theater
- Based in SF, full remote must be US based with US authorization to work.
Apply with a short note on why wiive, and one thing you've built that you're proud of.
