  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, advocating for best practices.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to address high priority incidents.
  • Communicate with clarity and influence across the data organization and stakeholder groups, including presenting technical concepts and trade-offs to leadership.
  • Produce high-quality technical and business documentation, including technical designs and architectural decision records.
  • Occasional travel may be required as needed.

You have

  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field, with a proven track record of building and maintaining complex data systems at scale.
  • Expert-level proficiency in SQL, with deep experience in data modeling and transformation.
  • Hands-on experience with dbt for data transformation and modeling.
  • Experience orchestrating data workflows with Airflow, Dagster, Prefect or similar.
  • Proficiency in Python for data engineering tasks.
  • Experience with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) and modern data stack tools.
  • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT best practices, data quality, and data governance.
  • Ability to architect and deliver highly available, scalable, and extensible solutions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to tailor your message to the audience, whether that's walking leadership through a strategic data initiative or working through implementation details with engineers.
  • Experience creating both business and technical documentation, including design specifications, project documents, and runbooks.
  • Experience mentoring and leading engineering teams in an Agile environment.
  • A strong understanding of business and product goals, and the ability to align your technical decisions to them.
  • Remote employees should confirm that the internet service available has adequate bandwidth to support all work processes.
