About Grokstream
Grokstream delivers an intelligence platform integrating multiple services and automation systems. We're a small, fast-moving team where engineers own their work end to end.
The Role
We're looking for a QA Engineer responsible for the quality and reliability of our software platform. This is a hands-on role with broad scope — you'll own the test environment, develop and maintain test plans, and ensure releases meet quality standards before reaching production. We're a startup with a strong culture of ownership — you'll take initiative, define processes, and work directly with engineers to ship reliable software.
Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the test environment, including deployment and configuration
- Develop and maintain test plans and test cases
- Perform thorough manual testing prior to each release
- Build and maintain automated test suites
- Validate new features against defined acceptance criteria
- Investigate and debug issues across the platform, collaborating with engineers to resolve them
- Ensure releases meet quality standards before production deployment
- Communicate clearly with engineers and stakeholders on test coverage, issues, and release readiness
Required Skills
- 3+ years of QA engineering experience
- Strong debugging and analytical skills
- Experience developing and maintaining test plans and test cases
- Proficiency with Python and pytest
- Experience with Docker
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab or similar)
- Proficiency with Git
- Experience with Jira or similar issue tracking tools
- Strong communication skills — able to work directly with engineers and convey test status clearly
Nice to Have
- Experience testing platforms involving big data, machine learning, and AI
- Familiarity with Kubernetes
- Experience with Apache NiFi
- Experience with browser test automation (e.g. Playwright, Selenium)
- Familiarity with browser developer tools (DevTools) for debugging
- Prior experience working in a small or startup engineering team

- Eligibility to enroll in our voluntary 401K plan which will become effective on the first of the month following your first day of employment
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $120,000 per year. The actual compensation offered may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, and location.
Benefits
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
