As a key member of our Engineering team reporting to our CAD Manager, you will be responsible for effectively and efficiently creating highly detailed AutoCAD-based electrical drawing packages for utility-scale solar PV projects ranging from 200 kW to 100 MW. The position supports the creation of comprehensive permit and construction documents, including solar PV site plans, wiring and raceway layouts, equipment configurations, and medium to high-voltage systems. You will work closely with the team to help coordinate the collection of data and information into these drawing packages.
This role ensures accurate coordination of project data and maintains high-quality design standards. The position also contributes to the continuous improvement of evolving solar PV system designs and cross-functional collaboration across departments.
We are looking for someone to be able to turn guidance from the Engineering team into comprehensive engineering details (i.e. MV XFRM termination details, etc.). We are also looking for someone who is open to learning AI capabilities of CAD tools.
Key Responsibilities

- 5+ years of relevant experience in electrical, PV, or utility power engineering industries.
- Utility-scale or large-scale PV plant design experience is a HUGE plus.
- Must be able to read, understand, and interpret architectural/engineering/vendor design documents and drawings, including common notes and symbols, particularly within the electrical and engineering trades. Solid understanding of drafting techniques and engineering terminology including title blocks, symbols, legends, dimensioning, and other standard engineering components.
- Experience creating electrical drawings with a very high degree of accuracy with high throughput.
- Must have experience with coordinating design packages for permitting.
