Financial Controller

What this job is about

This role is focused on tracking, analyzing, and managing the company’s financial performance. You’ll help plan budgets, monitor costs, and make sure the business is staying on track financially. You’ll also work closely with different teams (like HR, operations, and commercial teams) to understand what’s driving results and where improvements can be made.

What you’ll be doing

• Help prepare regular financial updates (weekly, monthly, quarterly) to track how the business is performing
• Estimate future performance (forecasts) and compare it to actual results
• Help build and manage the annual budget
• Review monthly results, fix any data issues, and make sure numbers are accurate
• Analyze differences between expected and actual results, and explain why they happened
• Track costs and revenues for voyages and operations
• Use tools like Excel and Qlikview to check data and create reports
• Build dashboards and KPIs to monitor performance
• Flag any financial issues (like overspending) and suggest improvements
• Work with other teams to find ways to save costs or improve profitability
• Make sure all financial processes follow company policies

What skills you need

• Strong communication skills
• Good with numbers and data analysis
• Advanced Excel skills (Access and BI tools like Qlik are a plus)
• Ability to manage multiple tasks at once

• Comfortable creating presentations

What you need to qualify

• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s is a plus)
• 1–3 years of experience in finance or similar roles
