Role Overview

The Quality Engineering Manager serves as the champion of product quality and customer satisfaction for Power Integrations (PI). This leader strengthens customers’ confidence in PI products by upholding rigorous quality standards, managing customer expectations, and ensuring timely, data‑driven resolution of quality issues. The role requires seamless collaboration across internal engineering teams and the supply base, as well as direct engagement with customers on technical quality matters. Success in this position demands deep semiconductor quality expertise, strong communication skills, and a proven track record in customer‑facing quality roles.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the quality engineering team.
  • Lead initiatives to elevate quality performance across the entire product portfolio.
  • Serve as the primary interface for customers on quality‑related topics.
  • Partner closely with Failure Analysis, Test Engineering, Product Engineering, and Field Sales to achieve quality objectives and strengthen customer satisfaction.
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions for field failures, including ownership of 8D problem‑solving and delivery of customer‑ready reports.
  • Define, implement, and sustain operational and systemic improvements to product quality.
  • Manage customer notifications related to product changes.
  • Support and facilitate customer audits and quality reviews.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in customer quality engineering for integrated circuits.
  • Expertise in the 8D problem‑solving methodology.
  • Direct customer‑facing experience in a quality management role.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills across semiconductor products and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent technical writing skills with the ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and factually.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical discussions.
  • Ability to travel globally to customer sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in Mandarin.

Power Integrations is committed to building teams that drive innovation and therefore review a range of factors when determining compensation. The annual base pay range for this position is $158,695- $229,046. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, qualifications and work location.

The range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position in California. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
