Summary

The Software Engineer Intern contributes to multiple aspects of software development, from device-level embedded Linux to cloud platforms. This role involves collaborating with senior engineers and maintaining technical documentation.

Essential Function

  • Design, develop, and debug firmware and software for embedded Linux projects
  • Work on userspace applications and embedded applications (bootloader, Linux kernel)
  • Setup and maintain cloud platforms for device management and monitoring
  • Participate in code reviews with members of the software team
  • Create/write/update/maintain product documentation
  • Report to software engineering manager

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Education level: Candidate must be pursuing a degree in a technical discipline including, but not limited to, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Experience with embedded Linux hardware (Beaglebone, Raspberry Pi) and embedded Linux operating systems (Rasbperry Pi OS, OpenWRT, etc.) preferred
  • Programming experience with C, Python, Linux Shell scripting (bash, ash)
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Compensation

The US base salary for this part-time position is $25/hr.

Our salary ranges are determined by a number of factors, including but not limited to the role, location, job-related skills, relevant education, experience, and training.

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the target range for new hire base salary for the position across all US locations and varies by the location of the position.
