Software Developer-ETL/Big data

Role Context

We are looking for a developer who has passion for data integration technologies and comes with data warehousing background. Someone who has experience in designing and coding ETL and one who wants to be part of a team that is actively delivering projects in Teradata, Big Data and working towards migrating to cloud technology.

Work Experience

7 year’s experience working with Ab Initio as a developer.

ETL Experience.

Strong SQL Experience.

Strong UNIX scripting skills.

Databases: Preferably DB2 and/or Netezza.

Comfortable with developing complex transformations as well as maintaining existing application code written by others.

Data Warehouse, Data Warehouse schemas and Data Mart schemas (dimensional model) experience.

Must be able to provide 24 x 7 Production support for ETL team on a weekly rotational basis.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

Develop day to day design and ETL build.

Daily hands on development of ETL to ingest and load data to Hadoop via Ab-Initio.

Conduct code reviews with team members and set a high technical standard.

Drive agile development and a develops approach including continuous build, continuous testing.

As a senior developer drive the framework and components.

Partner with other teams on developing re-usable components.

Participation in requirement clarifications/scope change discussion sessions and defect calls with business.

Liaison with interface teams on requirement details and implementation schedules.

Incident Management, Release Management, Outage Management and Risk Management.

Problem Management, Process Improvements & Productivity Management.

Project Management activities of planning, work estimation, resource management, project monitoring and status reporting.

Technology Project Requests Management, TAG application Management.

Systems Integration Testing, User Approval Testing, Schedule Management and Release Management.

User Adhoc Requests and Communication Management.

Application knowledge transition and preparation of application overview documents and application induction manuals.

Allocating the work to project team and tracking the status and onsite- offshore coordination.

Client liaison for reporting project updates and metrics collection/reporting.

Coordinate change management activities pertaining to UAT/ production deployments across different teams.

Key player in site and LOB integrations of Ab Initio platforms from AIX and Solaris to RedHat Linux on HP.

Write detailed technical specifications for entire systems (made up of several subsystems). Identify integration points. Review technical specs created by other developers. Ensure sufficient quality and compliance of documentation to architectural standards

Education: Masters or Bachelors degree in Technology or Computer Science.
