Game UX Art, Design & Research Internship

Nandaka Interactive is seeking a dedicated 2D Artist to help visualize the world of the Mahabharata. We are building a browser-based MMORPG rooted in the Vedic era, and we need an artist who can bring that history to life with their own hands.

We value originality and craftsmanship. While we are open to using AI tools for mood boarding or inspiration, the final assets in our game must be hand-painted, original, and created by you.

What You Will Do
Concept Art: Sketch and paint characters (NPCs, warriors), environments, and props based on descriptions from Indian mythology.

What You Will Do
Concept Art: Sketch and paint characters (NPCs, warriors), environments, and props based on descriptions from Indian mythology.

Game Assets: Create clear, readable 2D assets for the game interface (icons for inventory, weapon sprites, UI buttons).

Visual Research: accurate historical research (e.g., "What did a chariot look like in 1000 BCE?") to ensure our world feels grounded, not generic fantasy.

Style Consistency: Maintain a unified art style across all assets so the game looks cohesive.

Who You Are
A Strong Draftsman: You have a solid grasp of anatomy, perspective, and color theory. You don't need a computer to fix a bad drawing; you know how to draw it right.

Detail-Oriented: You care about the difference between a Khanda (double-edged sword) and a Talwar (curved sword).

Digital Native: Proficient in Figma, Krita, or similar FOSS tools.(Photoshop if you have a commercial licence for it)

Passionate: You are excited about the idea of visualizing ancient Indian lore.

Our Stance on AI
We believe in human creativity. You are welcome to use AI tools (like Midjourney) to generate ideas or mood boards, but direct use of AI-generated assets in the game is not permitted. We are hiring you because you are unqiue! We value your skills, your style, and your artistic voice!

Requirements
Sharing your art portfolio is a hard requirement. Share the following if available.

Character design (sketches or full render).
Prop/Item design (weapons, potions, etc.).
Note: Please explicitly state if any work in your portfolio used AI.

Hardware: Access to your own digital drawing setup (Tablet/iPad + Laptop/PC).

Availability: Able to commit 40 hours per week. Create clear, readable 2D assets for the game interface (icons for inventory, weapon sprites, UI buttons).
