Senior React Native Developer (Mobile-First AI Platform)

What You'll Do

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of our mobile application using React Native and Expo (EAS).
• Architect and enhance high-performance Design System using TypeScript and component API best practices, ensuring component reusability, clear styling tokens, and proper documentation (e.g., using Storybook).
• Develop and maintain the core Network Layer, ensuring efficient data fetching, robust error handling, effective caching strategies (e.g., using React Query or similar libraries), and streamlined data transformation
• Drive app performance optimization, specifically focusing on reducing re-renders, minimizing Bridge traffic, leveraging JSI for smooth animations, and optimizing bundle/startup time for a consistent 60 FPS experience.
• Take full ownership of core mobile features from concept to deployment.
• Contribute to high code quality through rigorous peer review and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience, with 3+ years dedicated to in-depth React Native for cross-platform mobile apps.
• Expert proficiency in React Native core principles, Expo (including EAS), TypeScript, and modern state management (e.g., Jotai, Zustand, Redux).
• Proven experience in profiling and optimizing complex mobile applications (e.g., using React Profiler, Flipper) and resolving common performance bottlenecks (rendering, memory, bridge).
• Deep experience architecting and building Design Systems with a focus on modularity, scalability, and performance.
• Extensive experience designing and managing the network/data fetching layer, including advanced use of state management for server data (e.g., Tanstack Query, SWR, or Apollo), optimistic UI updates, and implementing robust retry/caching logic
• Strong product sense, championing user-centric design to deliver the simplest, most intuitive experience.
• Proficiency in backend integrations (REST API) and experience with cloud platforms (Firebase, Supabase, and/or GCP).

Bonus Points

• Successful app launches on the App Store and Google Play.
• Experience with native development (Swift/Kotlin) or mobile testing frameworks (Jest, React Native Testing Library).
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes and JSI libraries (e.g., Reanimated v2+)
