CHAAMO is a next-generation trading card marketplace built for collectors. Our platform empowers users to buy, sell, trade, track, and showcase their collections, supported by real-time pricing tools, auctions, portfolio management, and a community-driven ecosystem.

We are entering our next phase of growth and are expanding our core development team, with a strong focus on strengthening our backend systems, data accuracy, and platform scalability.

**Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer (Backend-Focused) to join the CHAAMO team.

This role will be heavily backend-driven, with responsibility for developing and optimising the core systems that power our platform, including data processing, automated data collection, integrations, analytics, and infrastructure. A significant part of this role involves building and maintaining the automated data pipelines that feed our pricing engine, so hands-on experience designing and running large-scale data collection systems is essential.

You will also support frontend development where needed, but the primary focus is building a robust, scalable, and high-performance backend.

This role requires strong technical ability, reliable communication, and the capacity to collaborate and work independently in a fast-paced start-up environment.

**Key Responsibilities

Backend (Primary Focus)

• Design, build, and optimise backend systems that power CHAAMO's core features, including pricing, matching logic, marketplace functionality, and user data.
• Build, maintain, and scale automated data collection pipelines that power CHAAMO's pricing engine, ensuring reliability, resilience to source changes, and clean, structured output.
• Develop and refine the data pipelines that turn collected market data into accurate, structured pricing history and analytics.
• Develop and maintain APIs and complex data structures to support app functionality.
• Build and enhance analytics and reporting systems (user tracking, revenue, VAT/OSS, marketplace metrics).
• Manage and improve integrations including Stripe, Sendcloud, and other third-party services.
• Work closely with external providers (shipping, payments, data services) to ensure stable and scalable integrations.
• Improve performance, reliability, and scalability of backend infrastructure.
• Support and refine data pipelines and matching systems to improve pricing accuracy.

**Admin Panel & Systems

• Expand and maintain the CHAAMO Admin Panel, including dashboards, reporting tools, marketplace controls, and community management features.

**Frontend (Secondary)

• Support development and enhancement of features within the React Native mobile application when required.
• Ensure smooth interaction between frontend and backend systems.

**General

• Collaborate with design, product, and leadership to turn concepts into scalable features.
• Manage release cycles and deployments (iOS & Android).
• Provide clear timelines, updates, and communication across all workstreams.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices.

**Required Skills and Experience

• Strong backend development experience (critical requirement).
• Proven experience building and maintaining automated data collection systems — designing large-scale data ingestion, handling high-volume data pipelines, managing rate limits and access constraints, and keeping systems reliable as sources change (critical requirement).
• Proficiency in Python, Node.js, and similar backend technologies.
• Solid experience working with databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Supabase) and data architecture.
• Strong knowledge of APIs, system design, and data processing.
• Experience building backend systems for marketplaces, analytics platforms, or data-heavy applications.
• Experience managing integrations such as Stripe, Sendcloud, or similar services.
• Working knowledge of React Native / frontend development (secondary requirement).
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and optimisation skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a startup environment.
• Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
• Minimum 25/30 hrs per week

**Nice-to-Have

• Experience collecting and matching product or pricing data at scale (e.g. marketplace or e-commerce data).
• Experience with trading card platforms, marketplaces, or auction systems.
• Experience with matching logic or pricing engines.
• Experience with shipping integrations and payment workflows.
• UI/UX understanding.
