Riverside Builders is a New York City based General Contractor and Construction Management firm, with our office located in the Flatiron neighborhood. We are currently seeking to hire an Assistant Project Manager. The scope of our work includes everything from high-end residential townhouse projects to art galleries.
We employ a full-time staff of site supervisors, masons, carpenters, finish carpenters, painters, plasterers and artisans, allowing us to maintain a consistent quality throughout our work. We also own and operate a millwork shop in the Hudson Valley and a stone + tile fabrication shop in Brooklyn, NY.
Position Summary: The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will support the Project Manager and project team in the successful execution of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is ideal for a recent graduate in architecture, engineering, or construction management—or for an early-career professional with experience in architecture or a related construction field—who is looking to build a long-term career in project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing, tracking, and updating project budgets and construction schedules.
- Draft and distribute meeting agendas and minutes.
- Prepare and process change orders, trade awards and subcontractor agreements.
- Request and evaluate subcontractor and vendor proposals, ensuring scope coverage and cost competitiveness.
- Manage and maintain Procore project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, drawings, and logs.
- Submit and track RFIs (Requests for Information) and coordinate responses.
- Support field and office teams with document control and communication.
- Collaborate with design teams, consultants, and clients
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 0–3 years of professional experience in architecture, construction management, or general contracting.
- Familiarity with Procore or similar construction management software preferred.
- Experience or working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, or Rhino desired, but not necessary.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Project).
