Senior Engineer (Founding Path – Equity Only + PT)

Role: Senior/Lead Engineer / Technical Team Lead
Type: Founding Team (Equity-Based, No Cash Initially)
Commitment: ~5-10 hrs/week to start
Location: Remote (MUST be U.S.-based & authorized to work in the U.S.)

About the Role

Amazing opportunity for the right technical savvy professional who is interested in the gaming space. We’re building the MVP of a next-generation gamer rewards and competition platform. As our Senior/Lead Engineer, you’ll own technical direction, guide system architecture, and help us ship a fast, secure, scalable MVP using a modular, integration-first approach. This is a ground-floor role with meaningful equity and real influence over core product, systems, and engineering culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Own system architecture and overall technical direction for the MVP.
• Build backend systems and essential integrations using a modular approach.
• Manage deployment workflows, version control, and sprint planning.
• Oversee code quality, reviews, documentation, and development standards.
• Collaborate closely with the frontend engineer on API usage and smooth UI/UX integration.
• Optimize for speed and stability—leveraging APIs, SDKs, and no-code tooling where beneficial.
• Guide data modeling and event tracking needed for early-stage product decisions.
• Lead technical readiness for MVP launch and early production rollout.

Technical Requirements

• 5–7+ years full-stack and backend engineering experience.
• Strong expertise with Node.js / TypeScript, backend frameworks, and cloud functions.
• Experience with Firebase/Firestore or equivalent NoSQL cloud databases.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, authentication, and third-party integrations.
• Familiarity with React/Next.js to collaborate effectively with the frontend team.
• Experience deploying on modern cloud hosting platforms (Vercel, Firebase, AWS Amplify, etc.).
• Solid grasp of analytics, event tracking, and lightweight data pipelines.
• Strong Git habits and experience running agile or semi-formal sprints.
• Bonus (Not Required):
• Experience with gaming APIs, competitive gaming products, or game-adjacent tooling.
• Exposure to blockchain/wallet SDKs (e.g., Thirdweb, Moralis).
