ClearFirm is building the next generation of business intelligence for data that's not publicly available or in LLMs. We provide risk, financial, and discovery data on 12+ million US businesses with 30-60 minute turnaround times, serving clients like Affiniti Finance and more who need deeper insights into SMB markets that traditional providers like Dun & Bradstreet don't cover well.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a founding-level technical leader to join as we scale our data platform and API infrastructure. This role will own the technical vision and execution as we grow from our first client to serving enterprise customers at scale.

What You'll Do

• Lead technical architecture: for our data platform covering 12M+ business records
• Build and scale API infrastructure that delivers business intelligence data via JSON endpoints
• Own the technical roadmap from MVP to enterprise-grade platform
• Recruit and build the engineering team as we grow
• Partner directly with the founder on product strategy and client needs
• Design data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and serving business intelligence at scale

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of engineering experience with at least 2 years in senior/lead roles
• Strong background in data platforms, APIs, and infrastructure
• Experience with high-volume data processing and real-time systems
• Track record of building technical teams and establishing engineering culture
• Startup experience preferred - comfortable with ambiguity and rapid iteration
• Interest in fintech/data products and SMB market dynamics

What We Offer
